Once again I wish there were a write-in option or that I could simply omit the How closely followed tag that is included with the weigh in as I find the labels to choose from useless. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING changed between today and the last few days.

I am aware that I see myself making bad choices, knowing I'm not hungry but eating anyways because I like how the food tastes and it's right there in front of me. During the daytime I'm decent with self control, but dinner time and afterwards is my snare right now. (Especially when I make lunches for my school/ work bound family since I graze a little while preparing the food.) On the plus side, it's a novel thing for me to be fairly consistently making lunches the night before instead of trying to throw them together in a mad dash effort, along with making breakfast, in the morning when I usually get up around 5am and am supposed to have breakfast made, kid showered and dressed, and both DH and my kindergartener ready to leave the house c. 6:20am. (I don't think I've ever actually accomplished all of that before 6:30am, but that's the goal anyways since that is the ideal time to leave to allow my husband to drop off our daughter and get to work on time with as little stress as possible.)

It seems that my weight is pretty stable, which I guess is good. It means my food intake and activity level are reasonably matched. Part of the reason I am recording this weigh in is vanity. (Feeling gratification for seeing the trend get closer to my immediate goal, even if it's somewhat artificial.) It helps me see that I'm giving the scale and the number it reads a little more power than I think I should since I start to see that as an end more than a means to an end.

However, there is a good aspect to recording this weigh in also (other than the simple, misguided but satisfying message that "I am X lbs closer to my goal; at this rate I'll reach my goal weight in 1 day." that is probably going to pop up when I hit submit for this entry). My last several weigh ins were morning-ish, but taken after breakfast and while dressed. Today is morning-ish as well, but sans clothes and before eating. It helps to see the contrast to have an idea of how my weight fluctuates normally and what kind of impact eating, time of day, and wearing clothes can have on my weigh in. As much as possible, I try to keep my weigh in conditions consistent or at least record possible extenuating circumstances so that I have that information for reference.

That's good to know that it was off by that much though. :)

Thanks! :) It seems the daily fluctuations can be ~3lbs up or down. Hydration will impact that too. I'm chronically bad at drinking water. The annoying thing for that is I KNOW different tricks/ strategies to help me improve but usually don't DO them. I often intend to but fail to follow through. It's the old "building healthful habits" hurdle. I hit it repeatedly until I don't, but I never know when that overcoming ont happens until I'm past it.

I really also need to increase my water intake. It would help to cut out the soda, though I love it. I just try to cut back on the food calories.
