Day 13 - no weight loss this morning, but it is probably because I only slept from 10pm until 2:30am. Usually I sleep from 6 or 7pm until 6am (yes, 11 or 12 hours). I'm trusting that the scales will start going back down tomorrow morning - hopefully, a whole pound to make up for today. Year-to-date weight loss has been 37.5 pounds. Still to go: 22.5 pounds. When I accomplish the 60-pound goal, I will be at 199. If I make this goal, I will probably make another wager to lose another 30 pounds to get down to 169 (I've never been that low since I got pregnant with my daughter (36 years ago!). To reach that 30-pound goal, I will only have to lose 5 pounds a month

Last night, I stepped out in faith (that I'll reach my challenge goal and collect $1,369) and went ahead and booked a stay at Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg, VA. Now, I have to, have to, have to reach my goal to be able to pay for that. I put it on a credit card, and we don't carry over any charges, but pay our bills in full whenever they are received. We had a bankruptcy about 15 years ago (guessing) because I ran up credit cards, and kept balances between cards, and only paying the minimum monthly charge, until we were $70,000 in debt. After seven year of NO credit cards, we have kept on the straight and narrow since then. It hasn't always been easy, but God has always provided for all our needs (as well as several "wants").

There were no vacancies at the end of June, and then it would be crowded around the July 4th holiday, and the first available July date was 7/22, so I took it. Online it said that the least expensive room would be $324 a night (which includes all the indoor water park admission). When I actually booked the reservation, it was "only" $299 (but $371 with all the taxes and fees).

Even though check-in isn't until 4pm, we can start using the water park at 1pm, until it closes at 9 or 10pm. And, even though check-out is at 11am, we can continue to use the attractions until it closes that night. Talk about exercise! One of the water slides is FOUR STORIES HIGH, and you have to walk up stairs, lots and lots and lots of stairs to get there!

They have 4 restaurants at the resort, and we'll probably eat at one of them for one meal - but otherwise, I will be bringing food, so it won't be so expensive. It will also give me more control of what I'm eating. We NEVER take a vacation, so it will be hard to be mindful to stay with whatever WOE I go with after the fast, and it will be REALLY hard to not drink solely Diet Coke while I'm away. I'll be putting a lot of prayer that it won't throw me off track!

Hope y'all have a good day!

How old are your other grandchildren? Are there any teenagers? You mention taking your 2 youngest. How many can there be in your room? Two beds accommodate 4 people but you can usually have a roll-away.

It sounds like you have a plan and although you may not do perfectly during vacation, you are already ahead of the game! I just came back from a vacation (8 years since our last one) and was worried, but, I had a plan ahead of time and did surprisingly well while still being able to enjoy eating out. You’ve got this!

@Snowwhite100 - yes, I have another grandson (Max) who is 14. He just went to GWL in the fall, and the younger two (Jack 5 and Maebie 10) have never been. @jdstore, when I had called a couple of days ago, they said you could NOT bring a cooler, and that NO food or drink was allowed in the pool area. I called again yesterday, and they said you COULD bring a cooler as long as it wasn't a big one, and that you could bring snacks to the pool area. I guess I'll call again a couple of other times and then figure out what the majority of the customer service folks say. I sure hope they DO allow it, because it will save us a boatload of money. Just a hot dog is $7.99 in their restaurant and sodas are $2.99. (Lord, PLEASE let us be able to bring food because it would cost us a fortune to have four meals for four people at the Lodge.)
