So it's Thursday hooray!!! Four days and still no coffee or soft drinks!!!! Since Im in ketosis I try to look at it from the perspective that Im am burning fat for my energy to keep me motivated. I have fallen in love with the Atkins choclate delight shakes, it tastes just like choclate milk and only 1 net carb!!! Can't beat that!!! The shakes make me feel like Im getting tons of protien with out the carbs and still some sweetness!! LOL =) Here's to day 4!

Hey Melle36....for Atkins Induction (14 days min) it is 20 NET carbs/day (carbs - fiber = net carbs), most should come from vegetables. A few good low carb, high fiber veggies are brocolli, spinach, collard greens. Flaxseed meal is also a good addition if you have any problems w/ irregularity Best of Luck!

I did induction in September for a month - no exercising because of health problems and lost nearly 13 pounds on induction. It works wonders. Maybe had a few minor cheat days in there nothing big. The longer you do induction if you can the faster the weight will come off. Try fish, lean meats and limiting your calorie intake if stalled as I did that too and didn't eat too much fatty foods and didn't eat too many calories either. Avoid nuts on induction, I found they seem to level you off and cause weight stalls or gains and should only be eaten if you're already at your goal weight area. Eat mushrooms and avacados for potassium, it is a vital nutrient one often lacks from Atkins eating, and I found I have to take a supplement - once you're off induction eat potassium-rich fruit occasionally. Get the Atkins book, there probably is a copy at your library. Write down all important things in a notebook. My mom bought me and my sisters the books (the recipe book too) years ago and I am glad I kept them - only myself and my second oldest niece who has four kids and is 27 is doing Atkins permanently like me and she has had great success also like myself... It's restrictive and hard to follow but worth it in a million ways.
