To my buddies, thanks so much for the feedback and support, it makes me feel less alone in this weight loss endeavour. I was going to say struggle or hell but felt that wasn't positive enough :)
173.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 46.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
