WEDNESDAY AVERAGES (targets)

We'll today I actually weigh 154.32lb which is the highest I've weighed in since 29-Jan-2020. Six months in my range 152 +/- 2 lbs is good but this feels like it could be a possible trend change looking at my charts. We'll see but better portion control and some activity should put things right. I do not suffer with my WOE so a slight mod should be no prob. Reducing cals to 2200.

Thx keyten! My hope is that posts like these will get a few people to remove emotion from the process. Graphs & averages tell a much better story than single data points. Sometimes it's just a bad day at the porcelin gym. 😳

sk, I finally, finally did some averaging as per your advice. I know... I'm slow! 😁 I found out that the last four weeks my trend went up a bit (probably from inflation from lifting really hard) and then drifted back down. If I average the averages from the last four weeks, I've been within 1 pound of the very same weight. I guess I'm maintaining OK! 😁

Awesome!! 👍👍A convert to averaging. Kind of settles the mind, eh? Did you manually average yourself or use an app?

I just did it manually. I record daily on a chart next to my scale. So, it really was no trouble to plug in numbers. Honestly, I was so surprised how level it was. I think recording here daily helps me with accountability, but this was an educational day! Thank you!

If you have an iPhone with the HEALTH app it does it for you. Weekly, monthly, annual. Easy to setup; might already be setup. I can help make this even easier if you want @melissa

Are you calling me emotional, Chris???? 😁 You are right! 😳 I just have a very cheap android... As in super cheap. 😁 It is Ok! Honestly, putting it manually was no trouble. And, I can see that, although my weight went up for a while, I as just beginning to lift really hard again and was likely experiencing inflation from sore muscles. I am still working out hard, but the weight has drifted down again. My clothes at looser than at the same weight a month ago! Every bit of progress is a bit more learned! 😁

I did start it but chris stirred the pot with his big wooden spoon! 👍👍🤣

Don't even try, Petra. Chris is beyond explanation! 😁

Great job, SK! I am sure a small adjustment will get you where you want to be. Those numbers are still awesome! 🙌🏻 So I stepped on my new smart scale this morning and it showed 30% body fat for me.. How accurate is that reading? Seems high.. I’m 5’7 and 137lbs, so my bmi is 21.5. It seems high. Is that high? 😬

BMI is a relatively simple calc - height, gender, weight. Your app dashboard should show your BMI as fine. Use the BF absolute reading with a grain of salt.

How did you know what I was doing this afternoon Chris?! Are you flying drones over my property? 😳🤣🤣🛰✈️
29 Jul 20 by member: sk.17
SK, ok, thanks! 😊 I will, but am looking forward to seeing whether that number will change as I get stronger and slimmer.

Hey NN !! You asked a question about your BMI being too high? Try the site www.smartbmicalcutor.com to get a graphical view of it. I took a guess at your age. Looks very healthy to me!! 👍👍 Notice how the healthy BMI range is tilted upward as you age.

The BMI seems pretty simple to learn, yet but the body fat is so weird. I've plugged in my numbers to different "calculators" using my measurements, weight, and height and get anything from 23.7 (calculator. Net) to 31 percent body fat elsewhere on another site. Without a more accurate way to measure, and I really doubt the scales do that grand a job, I just can't be bothered to worry about it. 😁 You are doing so great, so don't worry! I'm 5'8", so a bit taller than you, newnameMM, but I weigh 145 on a good day. I think we all just have to be us!

For BF%, calculations are precise but not necessarily accurate. Therefore, use as a baseline and track deltas.

Agree with Chris but some home scales underestimate and others overestmate which is why I'm saying precise not accurate. Several different algorithms out there based on some "average" dude or dudette. Whatever that is .. 😳 Some gyms offer body scanning BF and the hoity-toity worksup can be spendy. Ultimately, the actual number isn't important. Secondly, it tends to move in same direction as weight unless you're are cutting or the opposite extreme.

Have you had a scan done Chris on an accurate machine?

That's a nice perk!

Hi guys! Oops.. I should have clarified. I think my BMI is ok - it’s right in the middle of what’s considered a “normal” BMI for my height. But when I saw 30% body fat I was like 😳. So 30% of this mermaid bod is blubber? With my bones and organs and muscles and water and everything? Yikes. Weird q, but does that include boobs? 😬 But anyway, I was thinking that maybe I see myself leaner than I really am, so maybe that’s spot on. 😂 Taking that reading with a grain of salt like SK suggested. Just curious.
