Thank you to those that support me. I went to the Doctors yesterday, for the first time in a long time I left there feeling good. At my last check up she berated me for saying I was thinking about Bariatric surgery and told me if I couldn't follow a simple diet how was Bariatric surgery going to help me. I left the office defeated and crying. But this time She was encouraging and excited that I had lost 25 pounds since my last 3 month check up. Now shes putting the pressure on that me that she fully expects me to weigh less than 200 pounds.
214.4 lb Lost so far: 30.6 lb.    Still to go: 15.4 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

This is a difficult choice. I made the choice to diet with out surgery. I've had friends that had it done. Some it was good for other's so so. I need the dicipline and change in the way I eat and chang in mind set. also I gained it slow I need to lose slow to help with my skin and get use to this way of eating, for it to become the way of thinking. Now I have to regain strength and muscle. Its not been easy but it been good for me.

Many people rave about weight loss surgery but it’s important to talk to people 5,10,15 years out. There are long term issues that bariatric surgeons don’t tell you about. You are are amazing! So inspiring to lose that 25 lbs! Keep up the great work!!

To be totally honest Bariatric Surgery scares me because I've seen both sides of what can happen. So I decided to give myself 6 months to prove that I could do it on my own and not jump at the easy way out. I'm proud to say that I'm doing it the right way. I now know I've got this! Just at 57 it will take me a little longer than it use to at 30.
