500 kcal per meal or per day? When losing weight I always had a sandwich for lunch. Sometimes ham, sometimes turkey and sometimes tuna. I like my tuna with light mayo, one tbsp, and dill relish. I also eat a few baby dill pickles with it.

500 a day or per meal? I hope it's per meal because 500 a day is not healthy in my opinion, but I wish you luck😊

Love tuna!! That’s how I like mine with onions and sweet relish ( 0 calories in relish and pickles) I like a spicy mustard but also mayo.

I love tuna. Oh my god, that sounds delicious. Do you use the 45 calorie whole wheat bread? That tastes SO GOOD with tuna. I use that with the Starkist tuna packets, so it equals out to 160 calories to 200 calories per sandwich depending on which Tuna I use. Hickory is 110 😅. That's 320 calories to 400 calories for 2 sandwiches.

Please be careful eating canned tuna too often because it’s high in mercury. Choose light tuna when possible because concentrations are lower. I tried canned salmon in place of tuna and it tasted good. I would personally alternate because salmon is safer when it comes to mercury. Best of luck! 💪🏻

Aamaddux, I use to eat low cal bread until I got to my first goal weight. Once I found out what I could and couldn't eat to gain or lose weight, everything has been pretty simple since. But yes, tuna is not going to be something I do in the long haul as there is mercury in it. Just until I hit my new goal. Crazy thing is I haven't gone potty in a while... Anyways, Have a good night and a great week madamx

Alternate with shredded chicken for another option. I ditch the bread and double my protein to get lower my carbs.

she's very right about the mercury, just watch for symptoms, including metallic taste in the mouth which is kinda crazy but true. happened to a good friend of mine and she had to go through chelation at the hospital. She's fine, more or less, but it was scary.

So what is healthier, 500 calories or 0 calories? Because I see no concern when people go near 100 hours without eating but a lot of concern when people eat 500 calories per day. Lol. Yes tuna is great but not sure any diet consisting of 2-3 items is a long term plan. What about maintenance?

I agree with Diablo 100%. I would love to see you have some vegetables some fruits, and mix it up a little. I’m glad you getting in your protein, but the fruits and vegetables will add to that meal. I don’t see what the rush is Things take time, you’ve got this you can do it just be patient with yourself.

Diablo, I'm near my maintenance weight again. I was doing fine maintaining at 180, but I want to be 169 like I was before... So I am creeping slowly down to 169 by going into maintenance mode every 5 lbs or so for a week, and then going back into deficit (1500 cal a day) until the next 5 lbs comes off, and so forth. I haven't gone to the restroom in 3 days because , my guess, tuna. Anyways I'm off that plan now because I need to isolate this issue.
