I don't know your age or height QueenMari but you might drop to 1600 calories, cut back on salt (to reduce fluid retention), keep your protein intake high (20+ per meal), reduce carbs a bit. Your photos show you eat strawberries, carrots and other great snacks. Do you like plain 0% Greek yogurt? It's good with chopped up fruit and maybe some hemp hearts added. My weight is stalling lately and I know that's from restaurant meals with family and some salty treats. I've lost fifty-five pounds this past year and plan to slowly creep down a bit more.

Your carbs seem quite high, try cutting down on carbs. In reviewing just yesterday's food, I would suggest totally revamping your diet, no soft drinks of any kind, no potato chips, choose a healthier foods, no creamed soups, few if any processed foods. There are lots of healthy menu plans on Pinterest, just search for the calories you are going for, such as "1500 calories menu plans". The type of calories you eat are very important, not just the calories.

I dont think im ready for 1600. I was losing at between 1900 and 2000 and now that ive dropped to 1800-ish ive stopped losing. Better chance of upping my activity level than restricting my diet more. Im just baffled at how dropping my calorie intake has stalled weight loss. It's the only thing that has changed..

y'all r killin me, lol. there's no way i'm cutting back to that few calories. i can tweak my menu choices; that's been on my to-do list from the start.. perhaps it is time for some of that. it makes no sense to me to restrict more when the last cut in calories i made seems to be the cause of my stall...since it's the only significant change I've made recently. (My inner Spock says, "that is illogical", lol) thanks for the input though.

It's obviously up to you what you do, and what you eat, but remember what Einstein said “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.” There are a lot of people here who have lost a lot of weight. They are your mentors.

It's been a week of doing something different with no results, rather than doing the same thing...which WAS giving me results 😏 ...ya see what I'm saying here? That's the pattern i see.. Now i just have to decide how to test it. I'm thinking a vacation day from counting is what I'm gonna do today, and eat without limiting my calories. Tomorrow we'll see where this science experiment takes me. 😉

If it works don’t stop. If it doesn’t work change.

Thanks, Tash, that's the plan. I always end up being my own lab rat. 🐀 I have to be able to explain logically why something about me is happening before I'm able to change it for the better. I never follow advice without testing it. I've done a little research and am curious to see how the next few days play out. I'll keep posting as the mystery unfolds. 😉

This might help with your experimentation ;) https://www.economist.com/news/2019/03/16/death-of-the-calorie

Well thank you, Jenk, that was very informative.. and confirmed a lot of what i already knew 😉 but it's good to get confirmation when the world is throwing a lot of conflicting information at you. Very helpful. 👍

Dropped 1.7lb this morning, after binging yesterday. My binge took my weekly average from about 1800 cals to closer to 2000.. It's looking like that 1900-2000 per day may be my sweet spot. However.. I'm gonna stick with the 1800 for a while longer and see if i plateau again.. I do enjoy a good experiment 😉 and if what i suspect is really happening then other people need to know.. I've seen too many people in here struggling and starving and getting no results.
