Day 13: A 1.3 gain. Disappointed? Of course. I had a killer hike yesterday and great numbers. Upon reflection, I ate late again last night and I know I am not drinking enough water. Monday is the start of a new week, so I'll make a few minor tweaks to compensate for those areas and see what effect there is.
On a positive note, I have to remember I am only 13 days into the healing phase, and I do have a solid 3 lb loss compared to January 1st. My goal is to lose 5 lbs a month - I am more than halfway there. I'll continue on my current plan for the remainder of the month, then reassess. While I believe calories are King (as my FatSecret buddy NorthernMuscian says), the endocrine system changes SLOWLY, so the effects I desire are down the road. I need to be patient. I didn't get to 177 lbs overnight, I am not going to get to 150 lbs anytime soon. I know from experience, I will start to see major changes in about 6 weeks, contingent upon consistency and adherence to my program of course.
