meganmurphy77's Journal, 30 April 2008

After so many road blocks on this weight loss journey, I've finally chalked it up to I WANT TO BE HEALTHY. Being thin will be an added bonus to that but I really just want to live a long, active life. I've been doing really great. I've really been focusing on the veggies and fruits that I love (broccoli, carrots, cucumbers, strawberries, and watermelon). I've found that eating right is not as hard as it seems once you get on track. It actually feels great and you can realize how bad the other junk made you feel.
156.0 lb Lost so far: 18.0 lb.    Still to go: 11.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Great attitude Megan. That's what dieting really should be about...being healthy. Weight loss is just a by-product of having a healthy lifestyle, not the main ingredient. And good job focusing on veggies & fruits. You can never go wrong on those. The more you do it the more you'll want to try other type veggies, like eggplant, butternut squash, asparagus, okra, (the stuff I used to think was yucky), etc. Also include some grains & legumes along the way too. So way to go! Keep it up.

I have the same attitude! AlthoughI would like to get back down to the weight I used to be, I really just eat healthy and train for a healthy body and fitness! It makes you feel better too! The feeling you get after a hard training session is fantastic, sense of acheivement! And the difference between eating a nice salad then a mcdonalds meal has on your body! Continue on your journey and you WILL live a long, active, healthy life!
