kingkeld's Journal, 07 August 2012

I really gotta think of something else to start my journals with other than "Good morning". :) Maybe a "Howdy, folks!"?

It's day two of the week, and it's day two without any sugar, and it's day two that I shed a LOT of my gained weight. Is that a coincidence?

I don't think that it's necessarily the sugar (or lack of) that makes the difference. I think it's the fact that once I get into the sugar, I don't stop when I should. This makes me want to consume MORE food and more calories, and the vicious circle starts.

I gotta say I feel great. I feel thin. I can tell that the weight is coming off. I will try to make it through one more day - and then one more, etc. doing this for right now.

From Sunday to Monday I dropped 1.5 kgs (3 lbs). Today I dropped a massive 2 kgs (4 lbs)! I can tell that I am going in the right direction.

Of course, this won't keep happening. If only it did! I'd be back to normal sometime this week.

I'll keep going and see what happens.

My meals have been smaller these last two days. I have recorded everything I have eaten, and it DOES seem to motivate me to eat less. I become a little more focused on how many calories I consume, and it makes me "cheap" on them, not wanting to go over my limit. This is definitely a good thing, and this is what made me succeed losing weight in the first place, I believe.

I have already entered all the foods in my journal for today, and it's not even 6 AM. :)

Yesterday, I FINALLY got to listen to the dear Paul McKenna again. I realized how much I missed the little 15 minute meditation, and I could actually tell how much it kept me in a short leash.

Wife called me on her way home from work, wanting to know if I wanted ice cream. She was gonna get one, and would bring it to me. Without any hesitation I just told her no thanks. I didn't even miss it. I had an urge for sweet at some point in the evening while we were watching movies, and I treated myself to a blackberry smoothie with some protein powder, to take the edge off it. It tasted great, and it was in no way bad on the calories. Actually, I kicked the protein intake of the way way higher than it was.

My other snack was an orange, which I had in the afternoon. I'm really bad at eating fruit. I like fruit, but I just don't get to eat it. If I shop, I never consider fruit. If we have it, I don't consider it an option. But once I have some, I really like it. When I'm done eating my fruit, it's out of my head again. Strange. I will try to do better on this, as it's both cheaper and healthier than some of the junk I eat when I have cravings.

Today, I want to stay at work and have lunch with my coworkers. This is my goal. This means staying until 12, eat with them until 12:30 or so, and go home at 1:00pm or maybe 1:30pm. Something like that.

I really want to bump up my work hours a bit, get more back towards full time. I do know that I push it a little, and I am tired in the evenings, but I do like being there, doing my thing.

I have my first interview session today, and I'm actually looking forward to it. It's a fairly easy one, I think, and it shouldn't be too much trouble. Bring it on! :)

I'm slowly starting to mentally prepare for a tough Wednesday. I will go to work first, then home and sleep. I think I'll be home around 1pm. Then, at 3:30 or so, I will be picked up and we'll go jam with BURN/Burnin' Live. Still not sure of the name until the band meeting tomorrow.

We may have a singer for the band! A friend of mine, whom I hadn't even considered, asked if he could try out. I think it might work out - but we'll have to see what he brings to the table. He's not the shy type, kinda goth in his look (often sporting long coats and top hat in public!) and I know he loves to sing. He's into somewhat the same music as the rest of us, and I have hear him sing when we've been playing Rock Band on the Xbox a few times, and that wasn't half bad. Of course he'll need some training, but everyone in the band does. Even me, though I have more recent band experience than the rest. It's a different style than what I play with The Black Peanut, and it takes for me to pretty much completely regroup my style. It's a FUN challenge, and it brings me much closer to a musical style that I am 100% behind. I love it!

Right after I am done writing my journal I will go put on the bass guitar and my headphones, and practice our songs. I do this twice every day these days, to get more familiar with the details and to get tighter playing them.

Today I'm thankful for:
- Another good night's sleep. Wife slept great too - I suppose I didn't snore too bad. :)
- Losing two kilos! Nice!
- Morning coffee!
- A general good feeling this morning. I'm sleepy, but feel pretty good.

Happy Tuesday! Rock and roll! :) Life is good!

as soon as I limited sugar/carbs my body responded! Once I eliminated, I also stopped the incessant cravings!

The lose of cravings was one of the most appealing things for me on a low-carb diet. Great job on the loss.

Fruit is highly overrated. LOL! I do like berries once in a while for a treat! I am so pleased to hear the fluid drained and might have helped you lose some of that weight you are worried about. You are already jammin' too. Happy to hear you are easing back into your daily routine and I am not surprised how much rest you need right now. Take it slow. HUGS!!!
