I'm finding that averages are important. If I go over a little on my RDI one day, as long as my overall average for the past few weeks hits under that RDI, the one day of having an extra pork chop isn't going to hurt me. Of course, I still have to stay under that carb count.

I'm still having trouble resisting getting on that scale every day. But I'm getting better. I'll keep working on it.

That is great advise. I just got the new Atkins book yesterday so I was surprised to find I was doing things alittle overboard! DUH! I have been eating too much fat & not enough calories. I want to weigh everyday also. I'm sure thats in the book. LOL

I totally agree with you about averages for the week vs sweating one bad day! I find that I do pretty well throughout the week with one "off" day is not as damaging as I thought. I can stop beating myself up so much. I hear so many mixed meessages about daily weighing. I do it myself but I'm only going to record once per week to see if my weekly averages are different than daily because my scale is up and down 2 - 3 lbs depending on what I eat and how I workout.

Vinni, I bought a scale today and I am nervous because I am so going to be tempted to jump on the scale everyday now. When I was just hoping for one in my hotel I was fine. I am going to have to leave it in the van and then have Dre hide it from me in the apt. lol I also agree with the averages. I also stop eating once I go over my calories it sucks because I end up hungry but its my own fault. I am really trying to pay attention to my brain and really thinking about the choices i make and the food I decide to put in my mouth. I was astonished with a loss this week seeing I only exercised like four times and I had chili cheese hot dogs (which were amazing the theatre said we HAD to get a coney from this spot downtown) I mean REALLLYY how many more chances will I get to go to Kalamazoo and eat a coney. Anyway, glad you are feeling better. I am super excited about this new challenge I did some Billy tonight. I had to di it late because I did not eat all my calories til almost 7:30pm tonight and I NEED to digest with all that kicking and punching I have to do. Talk soon, SDW

Hi Stephanie congrats on the weight loss and the coney dogs. sounds soooo good. As for the scales, if you do hop on every day, remember, we have about 4 pounds of water that can fluctuate day to day, especially for women of child bearing years with all those hormones. If you do get on the scales, remember to do a 3 day average. that will tell you what the trend is.
