Good morning!

No change in weight today, even though I followed through to a tee.

I had my water (every hour, on the hour) and I stayed within the calories I wanted.

Actually, I feel really bloated around the cut today, and I can tell that there is STILL a ton of fluid retention there. It's so much that you can clearly see it just by looking. You don't have to look for it, it's just there. Also, my body around the cut is hard as a rock. Geez, I wish this would go away soon.

I do feel better and better, every day that goes by pushes me a little further back to normal. I don't have too man pains, but what kills me is my lack of energy.

I can sit here in the mornings and feel like I am ready to take on the world, and a couple of hours later - without really having done ANYTHING - I am beat. That bothers me - I am so used to being active and doing a bunch of thing, and I feel that I have been put on a shelf to just sit there. No fun.

I do of course realize that the recovery takes time, and there is not much for me to do other than letting it heal and recover. It just feels like it's taking forever.

Yesterday was in particular frustrating, in the way that I had no energy. We had the most beautiful summer weather yesterday, and several friends were sweet enough to call me and ask if I wanted to come out and enjoy the sun. I just didn't have the energy, and had to say no.

The alternative? I sat at home, watching TV, and had to struggle to avoid getting into foods. I had bad cravings, and even if the tapping did kill quite some of the urges, it still didn't do it all for me. It was entirely a mental thing.

Then again, had I gone out I would probably have gotten into some high calorie trouble too. Maybe it was all for the best.

I did manage to get through the day without trouble. The munchies were killed with a 2% milk/strawberry smoothie, not bad at all. We ran out of sweetener, so I did it with real sugar, and of course calculated it. I gotta say, I didn't like it with sugar. I much prefer it with sweetener. It has a different taste to it, and I am used to it. Weird.

So, today my friend is coming over for late breakfast. I already ate with Wife, but made sure it was somewhat lighter than what I normally eat. This way there is room for 2nd breakfast.

We talked about going out to a little diner for lunch - it was his birthday yesterday and the wants to treat him out (actually, I want to treat HIM out, so we're probably gonna have to fight over who gets to pay!), and my choice will probably be an omelet with asparagus and shrimp with an all-you-can-eat salad.

He usually hangs around until 2 or 3 PM, about the time Wife comes home, so I assume I'll be back home around that time.

The evening will probably be very quiet, I'm sure I won't have too much energy to do much else.

I was actually planning on recording another song this morning - I had a bunch of great ideas last night while in bed, but I simply forgot them. Oh well. There goes that 10 million dollar hit. Hopefully I'll remember the song next time I come up with one. :)

Today, I am thankful for:
- A good, long night's sleep. It helps a lot to be exhausted!
- A visit today!
- Morning Coffee.
- Looking at Kitty Cat sleeping. She always lies in positions that look SO uncomfortable for her, but I suppose she's okay with it. :)

Well, King, Hang in there man. I know the feeling of recovering and that energy drain. There is a lot to that whole body thing and maybe the medicines and healing. You will be back at em' in no time. Actually, even though we are old, our bodies do come around nicely because we HAVE done this BEFORE, lol. Maybe a lil slower than a 20 year old, but we have so much more wisdom, and are better in bed, lol. Have a great day, and Happy 4th of July! XD

Trouble is, your mind is still active, but your body is saying 'slowly, slowly'. This time next year, you'll be able to look back at this and think.... Wow... Look how far I have come. Even 3 months from here, you will be able to see how much you have progressed :-). Hang in, this won't last forever x

2nd breakfast, you are starting to sound like a hobbit my friend... I read up on your story since the operation, lucky for me im only halfway now, so i don't have to worrie about that for another year or so ;) But to me it sounds scary. being fat sounds like a good alternative to keeping the tummy up and stretched (*lol*) but now that you did it, there is no turning back my friend. to you being fat is no longer an option!!! So keep tapping or hitting or beating the sh*t out of yourself to keep yourselve from eating. Then give yourselve a big kick in the b*TT get up out of that chair and start to recover!!! you have been tired before, i know because i been there!!! Is this really that different from the time you started? go my friend, LIVE!!!!

Puhpine, thanks for the encouragement. Actually, I am a LOT more tired now than when I was 155 kgs. Seriously, it's pretty bad. But I do force myself to get out and moving, as much as I can. :) And I do avoid the bad foods as much as possible - generally I think I am doing okay. But the tiredness is killing me. I hate that there is so much I want to do that I just can't get to do. As SkInny, says, my mind is still active, but my body can't keep up. :)

That is the thing with major surgery. I have heard that it can take up to 6 month for the effects of the anathetics to wear off, depending on how much they gave you & how long you were under. Just look back, it took 7 hours, that is pretty major to me! But you got the rest of your life to look forward to. I know easy to say for someone who is not in your position, but you know I am right. You have been so strong, so chin up King, you can do this. It will get better every day :)

:-) Kingkeld, I have been there too after major surgery; gotta invent new mental tricks, new little routines everyday to anticipate on the boredom, and avoid food cravings. For weeks, I became champion at complex Sudoku riddles; then moved on to online scrabble, which became addictive so I had to fight that too, ha ha...anyway, you ARE doing better every day my friend! Keep it up!! M

From what I understand, after general anesthesia, the anesthesia all by itself can take a toll for 3-6 months after . . . just tiredness and malaise. That doesn't even take into account the severity of the surgery you had. A year from now you are going to be a VERY happy man. Give it time. I think what you have accomplished so far is amazing. As for sugar, I don't like the taste of real sugar anymore either. I use Truvia (stevia) and I like it the best of all.

Let your body heal my friend, and BTW- my stomach is still "hard" around the incision in some places- 5 months later...dr sz not to worry it all a part of the process. SO let it be! And the tiredness is very normal and its your bodys way of making sure you dont over do it. Wishing you well my friend... have you recieved your package yet?!
