I know it's just that the last time I lost weight and got to 40 lbs I had the same problem and I ended up giving up. That scares the hell out of me. I know that I have made permanent changes to my lifestyle and I know I won't give up this time but I really wish things would move a little more so that I could feel more secure. I'm just frustrated.

This isn't that profound but it really hit me today. I was about to give up on something in class and I verbalized this to my students and one of my students said, "If you give up, you'll never solve the problem."...or something like that. And I immediately transferred that thought to my weight loss...she's right...you'll never get to your goal if you give up. I know that's obvious but having a kid tell you made it so much clearer...so, Jen, there's NO giving up. :)

You'll do awesome Jen, you already have!!! You have no idea how frustrated I get and I know why I am getting frustrated, its the in between that I need to work on. I'm pretty sure you wont give up!

maybe the anticipation of going back to work has to do with it too. How was your 1st day back?

It was so awful...just a disaster. I didn't talk to my boss and he didn't talk to me but he harrassed the girls that work under me constantly; they were almost in tears. He belittles them in front of everyone and treats them like children. I ended up sending yet another email before I left telling him I just can't take it anymore. I've copied my private email on all of the problems in the past that I've complained about. Just in case.

Ohhh Jen...sorry things are so terrible. It's so hard to get up and go somewhere every day where there is so much conflict. I truly hope things get better on that front soon because there is only so much a person can take.

Sometimes, a lawsuit (or the threat of one) is just what the doctor ordered. Nobody has to put up with being treated badly at work. But stress in other areas of life can definitely stall weight loss. Do something to kick yourself out of the plateau. An extra workout or two, a high calorie day (not TOO high!) etc. If you always do the same work out, do something different. You aren't going to quit though, you are accountable to all of us FS crazies :)

Well that sucks that your boss is such a jerk face. If you are an emotional eater (like me) do not let that dill hole derail your plans! It is bad enough that he makes you miserable at work.. don't let him sabotage your weight loss efforts too. There are people in my life that I have to deal with that make me miserable and I know they would love to see me fail in my weight loss goals. So when faced with those types of situations I tell myself that "there is no freaking way I am going to give the bastards the satisfaction". I know that miserable people thrive on others misery.. so this time around I have decided to not fall prey to their ass-hattery!! Stand up sister :) Can I get an AMEN! We WILL be successful for ourselves! We will fight the good fight! We will be proud of our efforts! And we will giggle with glee knowing that it makes them crazy to see us SUCCEED! Ok everyone settle down, I think I made my point. :) But in all seriousness don't let the bastards get you down. Let them choke on your success.
