Did an overnight “sleep study” last night. Didn’t sleep much at all haha! How does anyone sleep with all those wires and belts attached to them?! They said I might have to redo the test because I slept so little 🤦🏼‍♀️ but the sleep I did get didn’t show any oxygen dips. Just so tired of being tired all the time. Blood work is all great so no obvious issues there. I thought eating better and exercising would help more than it has. Any advice or insight??

Sleep hygiene tips: Maintain a regular sleep routine. Avoid naps if possible. Don't stay in bed awake for more than 5-10 minutes. Don't watch TV or read in bed. Drink caffeinated drinks with caution. Avoid inappropriate substances that interfere with sleep. Exercise regularly. Have a quiet, comfortable bedroom. Google for many more ideas.

Try taking melatonin about a half hour before bed. Start with a 5mg dose and if that doesn't help take 10mg. Melatonin is a natural hormone that our body produces so it's not a chemical or meds. It could be a simple fix, which would be a great thing! Hope you figure it out!

Look into checking your thyroid levels, as you may have hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism. Might be worth looking into.

Thyroid levels are all normal. I wish there was an obvious cause. Thanks though!

A family member of mine had issues falling asleep/getting a good nights sleep. In researching melatonin, I came across possible issues with addiction. So in light of that, I looked into valerian tea as an alternative. My family member drank valerian tea 30 minutes before going to bed and it worked for them. They fell asleep quickly, had a good nights rest and woke up refreshed. A brand we use is Traditional Medicinals Organic Nighty Night Valerian tea. You might want to check it out as an option.

Another option is the herb Ashwagandha. It is supposed to help normalize the stress hormone cortisol and to relieve anxiety which can help in getting a better nights sleep. As a bonus, reducing cortisol can help with weight loss. :) If you decide this may be a viable option, going organic would be the best.
