I really appreciate the encouragement I've been getting from most on here, but some of my interactions haven't been great, and even a little harsh. I love it on here, but I don't find that stuff motivating or encouraging, it just feels mean and kind of humiliating

please just pay attention to the positive people, the other ones that are mean and humiliating are unhappy people. Your mantra can be "thank you for sharing". Just copy and paste over and over again LOL Hang in there! Mostly good people here. :)

There are always those people who don't know how to just say a nice word and be encouraging to others. Ignore them; and FYI you can delete someone's comment on your journal entry. There are red X's next to what people comment. Touch it and their comment goes away :-). Keep strong and remember you're here for you and your goals!

keep your head up. don't let FS get you down. stay encouraged. use it as a tool to count your calories and keep up with your activity level. i use it mainly for personal accountability. i wish i could figure out if you can block persons on here but I haven't as of yet if I do I will forward this information to you.

Well, I am sorry you have had that experience... Perhaps you will get better at ignoring the asshats.

Most here are great. There are always some trolls on any media site. Just scroll past the trolls. Deleting is a great suggestion. This site is about you, not those people. Believe me, I and a few others have had their moments with trolls. They usually drop off shortly. Good Luck with your goals!!

I think some people might forget that it sometimes takes a certain amount of bravery to be honest even with oneself about everything one consumes on some occasions/days. That you log what you took in so you can be aware of it, track it, and consider what adjustments you might choose to make in future is fantastic and a great step! You appear to be a grown-up who can make decisions for himself, and you quite possibly have people you actually know, such as loved ones and health care providers, who are already giving you suggestions, solicited or otherwise. You certainly don't need any of us strangers telling you off about your personal choices when you're already making the positive choice to be here. You make a fantastic point about making people feel humiliated, which is something any of us who has ever been overweight (i.e. most of us here!) probably knows a little something about. That kind of feeling probably rarely leads us to take confident, proactive control of our own situations. It's not helpful. You seem to have a great attitude, and I wish you much success in reaching your personal goals.

Some people tend to be too quick to offer opinions and comments when all the individual is just looking for a forum to express themselves or vent. At the end of the day we have to carve out our own paths to success but it helps when you have a cheering section and source of solid useful input. Hang in there my friend there are lots of people here who understand the battle.

I'm so sorry you have experienced hurtful things being said. Hold on to the positive things, starting with you coming to FS! There are many, many, many wonderful, supportive, encouraging people here and wonderful tools to use for your individual journey. Congratulate yourself for coming here!! Delete the comments that do not help you or feel mean! Don't let those people keep you from finding the amazing ones on FS or using the tools to help you.

I believe I understand you a little as I binge as well. And I weighed 335 at start. Big help is that I live alone so I am able to keep all binge-tempting foods out of my house. I go to a specialty produce market for my main grocery shopping and only go to regular grocery store if I feel very strong that day, and feel able to avoid making poor purchases. I also made 1 very strict rule when I started this on Dec 27, 2017. I will not eat anything from a fast food restaurant or drive-thru. It has only been 2 months, but so far so good. I am also being totally honest about what I am eating and take photos of the meals. That visual each day is working for me, it shows that I am not depriving myself and I cannot be truly' hungry' because I can see all the food I ate each day. I also fill up on vegetables as much as I can, to have the feeling of fullness in my stomach that I often desperately crave, more than any specific food. Try journaling your thoughts just before you eat, to start to find a pattern or habit. One step at a time. You can do this.

Girlie that's why there is a red x/delete button. Use it any time you get someone mean spirited in your feed, remember it's YOUR feed/page and no one else's. Just say bye Felicia and delete their ugliness. Ain't nobody got time for that. 😉 You just keep on doing you!!

There are more encouraging people than there are mean ones. Delete the comments that make you feel bad. Remember, it takes a lot of courage to start this journey especially on a public forum like this. You got this!
