Hi buddies,
Well, I'm glad I dropped the weight that I temporarily gained from eating all that crap on Sunday. I was fasting last night as usual but I had 2 jellos b/c I couldn't sleep I felt so hungry. So jello and water seemed to kill it. I don't think Jello kills a fast but who knows. There are always different levels of strictness when it comes to a diet.

I drank water for 2 days using my water app. Well, that is harder to do than I thought. I guess I would rather drink down a whole bottle almost at once then get nagged to drink every 30 minutes. Maybe I can set the reminders for an hour.

I blew off my workout for the last 2 days. Now I am going to do 3 workouts in a row. Well, I know that's no good but I didn't want to wake up. The 20th is the first anniversary of my Mom's death and I guess I feel blah. I am going down my sister's this weekend to visit her grave - the headstone was just recently placed.

Oh and Happy Mardis Gras! I am Catholic so for Ash Wednesday I am going to give up Diet Coke for lent. Now, technically, you aren't supposed to complain or make a big deal out of it, but I gotta say this is gonna be brutal. I don't drink coffee, so it's my morning drink. The last time I quit drinking diet coke my coworker asked me what was wrong with me! HAHA I guess I got zoned out.

I know my posts are kind of boring - must be the engineer in me. I write them like I am writing a report for work. LOL. Sorry, I guess I need a class in creative writing!!

Good Luck on the Diet Coke Stoppage. I have a Coke story :-) I'm a Coke Addict! (the -a-cola variety, not the cocaine one :-). Coke Zero is my beverage of choice, although a Diet Coke will do in a pinch. After realizing how much caffeine I was consuming (and how much it was costing), I decided to quit over the fall. Wow -- hit me like a bus. Headaches, body aches, complete lack of energy, couldn't get out of bed. It was horrible. I didn't realize what it was until day 2. After gulping down 2 cans (mmmm), I felt like a new man. Hello physical dependence on a substance! So instead I switched to a slow taper. I reduced caffeine intake 60% (down to about 140mg now). Yay!. What I unfortunately noticed was that during the time I was reducing, my weight loss completely stopped. The helpful appetite suppression and metabolism boosting powers of caffeine hurt a bit while dropping. I've quit the taper since then and weight loss has picked back up. I think 2 changes at once might be a bit difficult. Once weight loss is completed, I'll go back to reducing the rest of the way off the caffeine.

Oh no! This may not be so easy. I didn't think to taper off...hmmm

If the cold-turkey version doesn't work, the taper could be a good option. I don't know the lent rules to know if that's allowed :-)

Also Catholic but not practicing, just christian for now until I get over being angry with the Vatican. During Lent, when I still smoked, I would give up cigarettes and stay up till midnight on Sat in order to smoke on Sunday. I sympathize.
