Day 77 of new lifestyle, and I had my weigh in on my birthday yesterday morning, clocked in at 233. Not too bad, I had gone down that week but went a little back up. Still, an overall loss of 1.4 pounds. I'm happy with it!

I pulled my hair back for the first time in a long time yesterday (I have very short hair, so it rarely fits in a ponytail unless I have a kabillion bobby pins). But, after wrestling with my hair, I noticed something: A JAWLINE. CHEEKBONES. WHAT?!?! I love it! I felt more comfortable taking pictures yesterday than I had in a long time.

Here's the breakdown of my last two days:

Wednesday night, or, as I like to call it, adventures in plus size shopping!: Fiance surprised me and took me to shop for a new pair of jeans! I was ecstatic. As I have mentioned before, I love shopping. I love being fashionable and looking good. I like how clothes fit me because I fill them out nicely. All of my current jeans were sagging so bad, I gave them to my sister. Hence, no jeans. So, I excitedly go to Target. Quickly find some jeans, try them on. Heart drops. I'm so in-between sizes, I look ridiculous! The plus size section is too big for me now, and they look mis-shapen and awful. BUT, of course, I can't fit into the regular sizes yet comfortably! 5 pairs of jeans later, I'm discouraged and leave. I have awful flashbacks to when I first hit puberty and started to get curves before all the other girls did (5th grade, terrible time). My self esteem droops incredibly, and I feel like an awkward 11-12 year old girl again.

OK, so I decide, let's try again! We go to Kohl's. In their huge 10,000 square feet section of women's clothes, I trot off/do the walk of shame to the very back left corner, where the plus size clothes are kept. All 200 square feet of it. Awful, awful, awful. My choices were acid wash or stretchy waist bands without buttons. I somehow dig out a decent looking dark wash pair of Levi's. Whatever. Try them on- the crotch and zipper are 2 feet long! The button hits over my belly button, and the crotch ended approximately 3 inches after my actual crotch. This creates an absolutely wonderful top belly bulge. I look bigger than before!

I rip them off, get dressed, and look in the regular women's clothes. NOPE, the biggest size is just too small for me for now. When I realized this, I got choked up and started tearing up, right there in the store. I start thinking about how if I had just worked harder, I would fit into it. How embarrassing. I finally dig up a pair of Apt. 9 dark wash jeans that appear that they will fit. I take them back to the dressing room, praying to the Jean Gods. YES. A fit. Finally!

I look at the price tag- $60. Whatever. I use a coupon for 30% off and fiance buys them for me. I'm worth it :)

Thursday: Birthday. Hey, if I can't have a beer on my birthday, when can I?!? I had a nice birthday dinner with my friends, had Mexican food and a Bud Light and didn't count calories!

Regretted it this morning. Ouch!

Well, this was long winded. I hope everybody has a great St. Patrick's Day, everybody wears green, and everybody doesn't go too crazy!

I have been exactly where you are in shopping for jeans...I came to realize that they are made for all different shapes the size tags are worthless and it always becomes a try -on -athe-lon. My body shape is large hips slim legs and small waist even tho I am a size 14 I have a really hard time getting anything to fit me right. I have even resorted to having my jeans taylored, when I wanted a pair of really popular jeans (7) but none would fit me right...bottom line, its not you its the jeans...Happy birthday.. the luck of the Irish is with you this year!
