Week is almost over, I am anticipating the weekend. I will have 2 of my grandchildren, one who is 7 and one who is 3 will be staying all weekend. They keep me going from the time they get up till they go to bed..Whew, but I love every minute of it. I will go to the grocery today to stock up, because shopping with them 2 is a chore!! They want everything and of course the wrong things, so if I have the food in place, there is no temptations for them as well. I do make an exception with one small treat usually a mini ice crème drumstick. I have no issues with ice crème, that why a box will last a long time, but I do have it in the freezer in the garage and not in the house. Why flaunt it...right...I am feeling better, I refuse to give up in my quest...there is no reason why I cannot do this...One choice at a time, one day at a time. I give thanks for how far I have come and how far I will go...

Aren't grandkids the greatest thing! I have two also, a granddaughter who's 8 and a grandson who's 6, so I know exactly what you mean. They keep you hopping! I get mine, not this weekend, but the next and I'll keep them a whole week for Spring break. I can hardly wait. Enjoy yours!! And yes, having kids around does not mean giving in to sweets. It's all about choices. Kids love dips and you might get some fresh veggies to use with dips. You can make a sweet dip too out of cream cheese, unsalted butter, sweetner and flavorings like vanilla or even cocoa. Then slice up very mild flavored veggies like cauliflower or even carrots and apples for the kids to use as dippers. Ever tried fresh turnips or rutabagas? If they're really fresh they're also naturally sweet. Cut in strips they make good dippers. Even fresh squash or zucchini is good too. Have fun!
