I went and had a metobolic test done yesterday and they said that resting, not sleeping, I naturally burn 1420 calories - and that I will have slow weight loss with 1200 calories and that I cannot go any lower than that. They are thinking about puting me on ephedrine to jump start my metabolism and try to get it to 1500 so that when I consume my 1200, there will be progress ... thoughts?

By the way - this site tells me to eat 1600 calories a day, I will be manually changing it to 1200 ...

Well make those 1200 calories count with nutrient dense foods. I would try without the pill first. If you naturally burn 1400 at rest, than you burn a lot more when your active. So you shouldn't have a problem at 1200 a day. Protein every few hours will help keep your metabolism burning. Eat smaller meals throughout the day. That's how body builders get lean (fat loss). Focus on lean protein, lean dairy, fruits and veggies. Oatmeal is great. Switch to the higher protein oatmeal (its called weight control and can be found in most stores). Read up on ways to get your metabolism burning. Exercise really helps too. Get in cardio a few times a week and some strength/circuit training a few times a week. There are many workout dvds out there that will help. Good luck!
