I know I shouldnt have, but I weighed myself this morning and went back up 2 lbs.. Im hoping its because I didnt drink much water.

I refuse to quit this because I have been quitting my whole life.

I used the ketostix last night around 9 and it was the slightest pink which is only a trace, I don't think I'm in Ketosis, I don't know what to do to get into it.. but I will be in it soon!

I refuse to quit, but I need some motivation!!

Those keotosis strips are not something to go by. Atkins doesnt suggest you use those anymore. I have lost 11 lb total in 3 wks and I have never even showed a trace.

According to an article I read over the weekend, people who weigh themselves daily versus weekly lose more weight over a long period. Also, if you change your exercise routine and start to work different muscles (they are the ones that ache), then the damage being done to the tissue, (that "damage" builds more muscle), results in fluid retention. Of course, muscle weighs twice as much as fat also. I've noticed that the weight can go up some days and it's most likely due to retained body waste (liquid and solid!). As long as you maintain a good difference between caloric intake and exercise, there will be steady progress in weight loss. Keep that in mind and the odd positive weigh-in won't phase you. If you check weight daily, you can control your calories on a more "fine' level and ensure that your weekly result is good. Nothing worse than waiting a whole week to find your weight has increased!

A agree with adrianna123, you don't need to use the strips nor let them discourage you into quitting. Are you clothes fitting better? Or are there other signs that your losing. If you know your eating the right things, and drinking your water, just KNOW that you are going to lose, and are going to be healthier.

you will also know you are in ketosis when you pee stinks, if you can smell it you are smelling the ketones, not regular pee stink but make your eyes water stink
