I screwed up bad :(

My company had happy hour at Bertucci's today and I lost it. I ate 3 dinner rolls (!) with EV olive oil (it was amazing, I can't lie), 4 meatballs and 2 wings. I drank around 2 small glasses of Chardonnay with it.

The second I finished I just did not want to log in the info on FS. I also felt like exploding. I was full of carbs and regret.

Then I came home and fat Bemused started talking in my head: "You already screwed up, just eat ice cream now. As is you exceeded your calorie limit drastically and had more carbs today than you did in last week. I want ice cream, come on fridge is so close.."

I think I can reverse my mistake in two days by keeping my calories and carbs lower. The problem is my mindset, problem is food addict emotion eating Bemused.

I am writing here hoping the more I write the more I can take back control.

I am just so upset (which makes me wanna eat more!). Just this morning I posted a great weight loss. How could I be so weak to screw up the same day?

Any ideas on how to tame my mind?

Oh, believe me, I easily screw up the same day as a loss all the time. I have found that I have to accept my screw ups and then wake up the next day realizing that one day of mistakes would not derail all of my hard work. It is when I let those mistakes turn into weeks of cheating where I get derailed. I too am a food addict. Allow yourself the mistakes, accept them, enjoy them, and then jump right back on the horse!

Thank you inayat, you are an inspiration! As you said, I should jump back on the horse this second. I think writing helped a lot, at least I didn't eat ice cream and I don't feel like it anymore. Maybe I just need to let my feelings out in such cases... I am glad I fought it.

Stop! You can do this, you are stronger than you think you are. Don't psych yourself out. Would you slash all of your tires because one is flat? No, you change the one tire and get back on the road. Screw ups happen. Count it as a "cheat" day and press forward. We are all entitled to mess up once in a while. It makes us human. Don't stress eat, that will stress you more and a vicious cycle will begin. Calm down and take a deep breathe. You can and will do this.

Thanks a lot buddies. Your support means a lot. My weight journey has always been a roller coaster, I lost and gained more so many times I guess it is easy to lose my belief in myself. With your help, I will stay strong, believe in myself and get healthy.

If you know that your company is having restaurant food use goggle before you go. Have your meal and appetizer in mind before you go. Don't think of weight loss as a diet think of it as a lifestyle change.

Oh and don't beat yourself up. We all mess up at times. That's why we're all here.

I use an app to help with my mindset and I repeat all day to myself healthy eating and long life.

Hi Tainted, thanks for your advice. I will decide on my food before going to any restaurant in the future. Today's happy hour was won by an employee for the company in a lottery of the restaurant, it had unlimited appetizers so it was very easy to fall of track (of course not an excuse). What app are you using for mindset?

The longer you eat low carb, the easier it gets. I had a slice of granary bread slathered with butter and found the bread tasted sweet. If I seriously want something though I have it other than that it preys on your mind. Back to the low carb today and you'll soon get rid.

Well done also for not going totally wild once you had a few carbs

What works (most of the time) for me is I don't think in terms of cheats, mistakes, guilt, negatives...I think of all food as choices. If I choose to eat rolls, I eat them and enjoy them. If I want a glass of wine, I have it. I also know my WOE doesn't support me choosing to all the time eat everything so most of the time I choose other things...No hate and no beating myself up!

I agree with Rckc - if it's not a guilty thing then there's no need to think that as you've ruined it you may as well carry on and eat rubbish.

A lot of great advice already, I'll add this thought regarding 'free food': It might be free from cost but it isn't free from anything else.

Just channel Scarlett O'Hara when that happens, "Tomorrow is another day!" :-)

Rckc, that's a great way of thinking, I should think the same way. Otherwise I just feel guilty and just like minitata says in that case I can easily go wild and eat more rubbish. So now I am saying "I chose to eat rolls and drink wine, I enjoyed it. For today and tomorrow, I am chosing to eat healthy and low calorie." Minitata, I had my carbs macro at 20% (I dont count in grams). Maybe that is why I did not go totally wild. I am already eating carbs moderately. But still 20% is sooo much lower than what I used to do before starting making health choices. I am planning to decrease more by time but slowly.

ARB, you are completely right. Free food is not free of harm to my body! Next time I will keep repeating that to myself :) Andi, good morning! Yup it is a new day and I will do healthy food choices. Thank you all once again for your support!

Can't add a syllable more to all the great advice...you know what to do, so merely do it!

I use loose weight pro. It's a meditation app. I use it before bed and during workouts.
