madaboutmoose's Journal, 28 January 2010

Madaboutmoose is very tired. A fitful night of sleeping due to really ugly dreams. Who knows what that is all about but I hope tonight is better. I snacked more than usual last night (hummus and pita chips) which showed on the scale this morning. Still in "the range" and sort of too tired to care too much. I guess that's a good thing. I'm not saying I "don't care" about being healthy ... just "don't care" about the fluctuation. Work is crazy busy.

My buddies are kindly reminding me to "take care of myself" during this time. That is a good thing to remember.

Five things I am grateful for today ...

1. the listening ear of a colleague to how overwhelmed I am at work and his encouragement to set boundaries
2. the hope of catching up on sleep this weekend
3. my mom's excitement about her upcoming vacation and retirement this fall
4. that my bad dreams were only bad dreams and not reality
5. the support, insightful comments, and kindness my friends here provide me with

Sorry about your bad dreams - I've never had that problem really. Once when I was preggers with Emily I had a dream that zombies were coming to eat me (some horrible movie we had seen months earlier) and no matter what, every time I closed my eyes, I saw a zombie in a large field RUNNING towards me!! LOL Sorry your work is so hectic - I can relate! Just remember, like I told Glen yesterday, to leave it in the office. Don't take you frustrations home, because theres no good in that. Have a great day buddy!!!!!

Wishing you a very restful night tonight! Have you ever tried taking melatonin? It seems to help me.

Glen ... holy smokes!!! Your story confirms to me that little ones do indeed have "memories" of things that happen to them before they are verbal!! Amy ... thanks for the reminder about melatonin ... I have taken it but lately just haven't thought about it. Tonight!!! Melatonin here I come!!

OMG!! I have been having AWFUL dreams the last couple of nights, too! The kind of dreams that I can't remember completely but that leave me feeling under a dark cloud all day. I haven't been able to shake it. Even now. I still feel unsettled. Glen I can't believe that! How scary. One of my recurring nightmares is about a tsunami type wave coming when I am on the beach. The sand going down to the water is very steep and I'm scrambling to get to safety. There are lots of different variations. I always wake myself before the wave hits. I've always had terrible, vivid nightmares. MOTG when I was pregnant I was afraid to sleep some nights they got so crazy! ANYWAY. Hope you have a restful, peaceful sleep Moose, filled with happy, peaceful sunlit dreams.

I'm sorry to come back, again, with my moon theory, but full moon is coming and it could be one explaination to everybody's crazy dreams and restless nights. another couple of days and we'll feel better! hope you can get some rest tonight though... tomorrow you'll need energy to support your hubby. you're both in my thoughts
