Black Bee's Journal, 31 January 2017

I feel as if I am playing Russian roulette I had a tough weekend, it started at beerhouse and went downhill from there. Unofficially I have picked up over a kg which I hope to loose most of it by Friday but I don't think I will be able to loose everything by then. I am also struggling to limit my carbs and I know that the culprit is my hug a mug that I drink daily but that is my treat so I am kind of stuck anyway. I hope everyone has a great week.

It depends on what type of diet you would like to follow I like to follow a lower carbs diet and the 50 grams it to much I try and keep it to the max 30 grams but that can also be a lot but again look at the type of Carbs you eat BBO please help out here!!

Keeping carbs to under 30g or 50g are both still considered as low carb. The source of the carbs is what's important. I choose low carb veg on my low carb days and I try keeping my fibre around 20g or more. If you consume 60g carbs and 20g fibre then your nett carbs is 40g. You have to play around to see what works for your body. A general rule is that most veg that grows above the ground is low carb.

Lyn it's a matter of discipline. If u aiming to eat a maximum of 30g of carbs a day then one has to choose to eat foods that are low in carbs. It's all about smart choices. Instead of a banana, choose apricot, peaches, watermelon, strawberry, berries, etc. You also have to ensure you control the amounts of such food so that you don't go over your carb target. Most people choose not to eat fruit when doing low carb eating and rather snack on biltong, nuts, etc.
