Coco, I have exactly the same problem. For some reason, after 7, I just start craving. Your food diary is for you. I don't know about other people, but I don't usually look at other peoples' food diaries unless invited to or they're losing an inordinate amount of weight and I want to see how they're doing it. Keeping an accurate journal is for each of us personally and can help us face reality and get a handle on things. Don't EVER be embarrassed on here. We're all in the same boat or we wouldn't be here. We can do this even though it's not easy. Big hugs!

I've gone from eating a pint of ice cream in the evenings to eating a package of seaweed or at least two cups of fresh veggies. I can't NOT eat in the evenings, so I've just stopped buying ANYTHING that will be a bad snack to eat. Also, I've started getting up earlier so that I'm more tired and ready for bed earlier, that way I don't get that late night urge. I'm with Johanne, no embarrassment here, we're all doing this! I've just started so I am still on a roll and haven't really deviated yet, but I'm sure some box of cookies will fall victim to my bad habits at some point! Good luck to you!

Theresa, as Johanne said, the food diary is for your use. I never look at them unless someone has asked for help. Then I look to see if there is something there that is stopping their loss. As for the mindless eating? Well, let's just say I have my moments as well. I do much better when I eat a bit later and make sure I get plenty of protein. Then if I want a snack, I eat celery with cream cheese, pork rinds, cheese, or sausage. Have an awesome weekend my friend! You are doing just fine! Hugs!

Jo, Uosunshine, and Stef -- thank you all for helpful words. I know I shouldn't be embarrassed, but I do feel bad about saying I'm going to improve and then 6 hours later, I've broken my own vow to do better. Arrggh!

Never beat yourself up for slipping. the key is to get back up right away and try again. As long as you keep getting back up you have not failed it's only when we give up that failure occurs. (A little something I learned when I quit smoking- want to talk about tough!) I will occasionally succumb to chocolate milk- tons of calories in that oh so innocent looking drink, but then I get back to business as usual and it's not really a problem eventually I won't succumb to the chocolate milk (I had a really good run of eating healthy- it lasted about 9 months, then I put on about 5 lbs on purpose and had a sports injury and kind of forgot about the whole eating healthy thing, but I have not failed as I am getting back on track now!
