My spirit is on FIRE! Totally excited about the New Year! I am rather frustrated w/ some little things going on in my life, but I am determined to not let stress be my friend this year. Try as they may, my family is not going to 'alter' my mood ;)

Had yesterday's b-day dinner for Mom... two older adult kids fighting... need I say more!

Anyway...

Off to the gym this morning, back to tracking foods every day...just ordered the FITBIT which I am totally excited about!! Love gadgets! But love positive feedback more! So seeing what I am doing, and challenging myself each day to repeat or do better...this thing looks right up my alley...

Then will be working on some handouts for my church support group later today.

Hope all of you are doing well. Don't forget to outline your meals, pre plan your grocery shopping, get in your water, take your probiotics, and MOVE PEOPLE...find something fun to do today, besides your normal!!!

We all need to put a little LIFE in our LIVES! Much Love!!!!

Sorry about your kids - but you know they'll work it out eventually. Just that you didn't need that to ruin your dinner. They could do a reality show based on our Thanksgivings - yet every year they all come back!

What a great idea - find something new to encourage exercising! I'm going to look for a dance dvd tomorrow when I go out. I think I'd enjoy that, and it shouldn't be too high impact, should it. I might look a little silly, but there's no one other than me to care. Today I'm pulling out an old vcr tape that has Angela Lansbury leading some exercises for beginners and/or "mature" ladies. As I remember, it was a good stretching session and wasn't hard on joints. Thanks for the inspiration, and don't worry about the disagreeable folks. They're "adults" aren't they? Just smile and let it go. I'm sure you put the focus back on your mom where it needed to be to celebrate her birthday (^_^).

Don't let these things drag you down. They do what they want anyway, if we worry or not. Let go and focus on yourself and your goal. Is the support group the project you talked about last year?

thanks guys... I am leaving it to them to work it out! And yes, Jozette, I am starting a support group at my church called A New Year - A New You! and helping to encourage and support others in the start of their own journey's. Should be fun!!! Looks like a good group of people so far, about 6-8 have signed up in advance. Starts Tue the 10th, so I'll keep you guys posted on how it's going down the road.

Back from the gym...did 12 min warm up on eliptical, then squats, plies', biceps, triceps, shoulders... then back on the treadmill for some hiking. Started out at 2.5 incline, up'd to 5, then 10, then 15, back down again, all in 2-3 min intervals, then up again, then down again for a total of 25 min's. Roughly 3.0-3.6 depending on the incline, w/out holding on ;) Headed to the shower! Much Love.

Hey, Paula....I hear ya about the kids fighting...nothing ruins my day faster than when the boys come over and get into an argument over something stupid! ARGHHH! Glad you let decided to let them work it out...I have a hard time doing that. Great job with the workout and water. I am on my 3rd 18 oz glass!

So I am not the only one who has grown adult kids who come over causing drama over stupid issues, creates a bad day for all. I worried about all never thinking of myself! It's now my turn so, ha ha to my kids. I have done nothing for myself, always my kids. I do love them but, MOVE OVER MY TURN! I finally learned to say NO! My kids think I have lost my mind, ha ha. I am 64 yrs young now, my kids are adults and they can do for themselves. I keep saying I,I,I, which makes me feel funny. New Year New Me, I come first! Good luck to all, remember new clothes which I have never really experienced. Stand back and watch me shop at goal! Good luck to all, we can and will reach our goal!

Children - we naturally want to sacrifice for our children - but you're right, there is a time to reclaim our lives and enjoy it for our sake and put ourselves first once in a while. Thanks for reminding me of this important part of self-care!

My mom (their Grandmother!) and the Birthday Girl... had the BEST line of the whole day... and mind you this was on Jan 1st... " This is the best dinner I've had all year...so you two stop acting like toddlers and ruining it for me! " (she doesn't know from one moment to the next what day of the week it is, nonetheless which year! We all burst out laughing...and at least the 'toddlers' quit their squabbling! I told my hubby before going to bed for the night...'you'd think I didn't do a very good job as a Mom, watching these two today...but I know better!' Maybe in another couple of years they'll get over themselves! "Yes he did, No he didn't...Yes, HE did, NO! he didn't!!!" It was RIDICULOUS!!!

Sounds like my house. lol Teens 17 and 19 arguing over who gets shotgun, who took a piece of the candy bar etc. Maybe you should invest in some duct tape and threaten to use it if they can't play nicely. jk The class sounds great and exercising is a fantastic way to work off the stress.
