DairyKing's Journal, 20 December 2011

Out the door at 4:30 for my morning run. Would have been perfect had it not been 35 F, windy and raining. :) It was a good, easy run at a relaxed pace though - only 1.5 miles; can't overdo it the day before I get beat up by Jillian Michaels. Got to try out my new windproof, waterproof, and breathable jacket. Ran in shorts. Only thing a little uncomfortable was the rain would wash the sweat into my eyes - didn't run into any trees, but I did stomp through a number of puddles. Water was cold on my toes.
Ate reasonable and within my RDI yesterday - probably driven by shame for my overindulgence over the weekend. Now that I've committed to the race on the 31st, I can't afford to relax my discipline; I am determined to go out this year as a "winner."

"I believe you should live each day as if it is your last, which is why I don't have any clean laundry, because, come on, who wants to wash clothes on the last day of their life?"

A race can get you motivated. Good for you. I'm with you on the overindulging over the weekend and more so on the getting back on track. We know we have the determination so we'll get it done.
