Good Tuesday Morning!!! Ah ... first longer day as we inch ourselves towards Spring and Summer!!! I am excited that there are only 2 1/2 work days left in the week. I still have my grocery shopping to do for Christmas Dinner but all other shopping is done. Most of the gifts are also wrapped. I wrap up some of the stocking stuffers just because I think it is fun to unwrap things ... so I have those left to do.

I made all my Christmas deliveries yesterday too!! So, now I can really settle into enjoying the season. My father-in-law and his wife will not be up for Christmas which is sort of okay and sort of a bummer. It would be very nice for my FIL to spend time with us, he would get to see his grandson, but his wife ... ugh. I have to actively work at being "nice" when I am around her. She makes constant sacrastic and critical remarks about my FIL and life in general. Always rather subtle but still ... she just is not a very nice person. But I did good yesterday. I minded my manners and stayed for a little bit to "visit" with them. And ... I must remember my FIL chose her. He loves her. I dont' know why but he does. So, I honor him but not smacking her soundly in the head!! LOL!!! It's not just me ... no one in our family is fond of her. Not even the dog!! LOL!!! And animals always KNOW a good person, right?

So ... let's see what I can be grateful for today ...

1. my son made it home safe from his weekend trip to see his girlfriend
2. the house looks festive with packages around my tree
3. I am finally looking forward to Christmas!!
4. work is slow for me ... which reduces my stress level
5. feeling good in my skin!!! such a wonderful thing!!!

I hope this finds all of you doing well, feeling good, and enjoying life. Take care of yourselves this season!!!

Great job getting it all done so you can now relax and enjoy the time till Christmas. It comes and go so fast. All this preparation and boom it's gone. Love your 5 as usual. I think I may start posting mine. Funny about your FIL's wife. Consider yourself lucky you don't have to make nice and can just have a great time with your family.

Hi Moose, I am sorry I have been missing your journals, but its great to see you doing so well... you have been so 'steady' your chart looks great! I know, you must be saving yourself for Christmas dinner. Oh your list to do sounds like mine still the food and the stockings. And your FIL's wife sounds just as pleasant as my sister in law! lol I am not sure when it happened but she either matured or I stopped caring. I realized the whole fam was on my side and she didn't matter (only to my BIL) and she wasn't going away anytime soon. Oh how I dreaded the fam gatherings but ah, so much nicer now. Good luck with her! lol

My whole family has the scarcastic put down gene - it was wierd going into Evans family and NOT having it.... strange! Don't worry to much about it - at least you don't have to see her much! Have a great Tuesday Moose!!!!!

MOTG's - there is a huge difference to me between affectionate sarcasm vs. mean sarcasm. But you are so right ... I don't see her much and it really is okay!!! Funny how families are so very different isn't it? See ... you and Evan are a perfect example of the "opposites attract" theory!!! At least in terms of your families!! Cindy ... thanks for popping in!!! I've been thinking about you and missing you!!!

OMg, MOTG. That is like my family vs my husband's family. We are all so negative and catty compared with his family. They use humor to talk about difficult things, and sometimes the humor is not the greatest. But it's so much better than my family. On the other side, we are all very honest and straightforward whereas in my husband's family things can go for years without being discussed. Moose, that's funny. Dogs DO know. Yay about your Christmas spirit. It's because you KNOW those days are getting longer!

To say that we are inching towards Spring and Summer is certainly a positive take on the situation. MIL: Sometimes people who smile the least need it the most. :-)

I think we all have people in our lives like your FIL's wife. You DO just want to smack em sometimes...there should be an award for us NOT doing it! LOL Dogs DO know...My dog Diva (who has passed on at this time) actuallly pee'd on people she did not like-she actually loved almost everyone but when she didn't I learned to run!

moose...You are right, animals always know a good person. Once, our family sheltie - who never met a human he didn't like - tried to attack a real estate salesman. My mom and dad were retiring and listing the family home for sale; the real estate salesman was attempting to list it FAR below market value. Dad was far too trusting and mom was ignorant about business, but when my mom saw how the dog reacted to the salesman, she told my dad to get rid of him, saying "If Brandy doesn't trust him, then neither do I!'

you are definitively optimistic about spring! I would like to see this way, but with my feet in the snow and my nose freezing, I can't say I smell spring yet lol!
