Sharons Victory's Journal, 05 August 2016

Well today was my fifth day of doing spin class at 6am - that means I went every day this week and it felt AMAZING. I've already lost a few pounds in only one week and feel WAY better. I'm toying with the idea of going 7 days a week but not sure if it's a good idea - I just want this 30lbs I gained recently OFF ASAP so I can at least get back to my "normal" chubby weight I usually stay around :(.

I gained so much weight I had to go buy a few items of clothes just to hold me over until I lose it...it was so sad to see that I was grabbing way smaller sizes because that's what size I was last time I shopped but I was no where near that size any more :( - it's especially hard because I'm going on interviews lately and NEED to look my best but not feeling my best :(, I think the few items of clothes I got will help a little...it didn't feel good trying to squeeze into my old stuff :(.

I have been avoiding seeing people I haven't seen in awhile and a lot of social events with my attractive friends because I just don't feel attractive right now...I also haven't gone to ANY outdoor summer activities this year because I just couldn't bring myself to do it with this 30lbs heavier body =/

Anybody have any tips on fast weight loss? I DO want to make it a lifestyle but dying to just get this 30lbs off ASAP...I also have been feeling so good I scheduled a trip to Santa Cruz on August 26th and I'd love to lose as much as possible by then. I tried cutting my calories to 1200 before and my weight loss actually STOPPED for an entire month! So any tips that'll work would be great...

Congrats on consistency so far! Five days in a row is something to be proud of! Regarding your question about whether to go all 7 days in a row, if you are just jumping into exercising after not doing it as hard before, I personally would ease myself into it before deciding to go all 7 days. Our body may be pushed to the max without us realizing it and I'd hate for that to happen to you and then not be able to do it for a few days. I made the mistake of doing something similar and was super excited about it so I decided to do it 7 days a week. It lasted 2 weeks before I got so exhausted and ended up tearing a muscle and had to take another 2 weeks off. This caused me to lose motivation. Of course, everyone is different so what happened to me may not happen to you. If it's the getting up and having a routine that may help, do that but maybe do something lighter (not as strenuous) on those days. Just an idea. Nevertheless, you are an inspiration! Also, don't worry too much about your size although I totally get where you are coming from (we are similar in many ways). Sometimes we are our harshest critics. By the way, your profile picture looks stunning, you ARE attractive even if you don't feel it. Plus, attractiveness isn't just looks or how pretty a person's clothes are...attitude and personality are a huge factor too. I know this didn't help answer your question about fast weight loss, I hope that's ok. I'm a big believer in slow and steady wins the race especially after seeing too many people lose weight quickly only to gain it back just as fast. Also, be sure to eat enough calories - 1200 is the absolute minimum a woman should eat, but if you exercise like you do, you may want to consider upping those calories to give you the energy you need to exercise. My biggest advice to you is to stay consistent and not give up. If what you are doing is working for you, keep doing that no matter how you feel that day. This is my biggest problem because if I feel terrible, I'm likely not to do anything and as a result I sabotage my own goals. I certainly wish you the best. Hang in there!

It's usually good to have a day off. But I would go with how you feel. Great job on the exercise. I love spin class.

omg Fatswatter I just went and read your profile - we DO sound a lot alike! haha...I would cry if I ever reached ONEderland :(. I have lost weight three times now and each time I reached 208 and got content with how I looked and stopped trying...I NEED to do it now 'cause I'm getting older and I know it'll just get harder the older I get. Thanks for your encouragement, it means a lot and I'll keep it in mind...I tend to be an all or nothing person and sometimes that can be my downfall..I need to learn consistency!

That's a lot of exercise for 7 days a week. I, too, get really enthusiastic and injure something so perhaps you should be slightly cautious. I just am at the end of a round of gout (who on this planet has gout?) and I'm trying to lose at least 10#'s...probably need to end up at least 20#'s lighter. I've been drinking lots of water and sometimes make up Sassy Water but get tired of it. Also, I've been trying to eat protein and closely watch carb intake. Good luck and keep on the healthy eating and exercise routine.
