Sandy701's Journal, 10 November 2011

Walked 3.1 miles with both doggies in the blustery, chilly (for us) weather. Wore 4 layers on the core, jeans, gloves and an earband. But all in all, not a bad day at all; 50 degrees when we set out, 52 when we got home.

This cooler weather is well-timed because we're having our heating system checked out today; just routine, seasonal maintenance but that extra bit of heat that comes when they test everything out will feel quite welcome today.

DH had yet another laser procedure done on his eye on Tuesday, when he went for a progress check on the previous procedure, but he's recovered nicely. The vision isn't perfect, but it's clearing and good enough for him to be at work.

While he was at the doctor's, I went on down the road to Kohl's and picked up some better-fitting pants. I currently have 12's in Levi's shorts but not any pants or jeans. I took a leap of faith and took only 12's into the dressing room and they are definitely my current size! Wow. But to contrast, I have some cords from years back that are 14's and they are still a bit snug for me to wear comfortably.

I spent part of yesterday washing some sweaters that are coming out of storage that I might be able to wear. If they're not my style anymore, I've been setting them aside to donate.

These next few days will also have me assembling my boxes for Operation Christmas Child. It seemed strange bring out my containers of Christmas gift wrap already, but it wouldn't hurt me to begin wrapping the gifts I've already purchased for my family. It often seems like it's way too early, but this time goes by so darn fast!

FOOD NOTES: Higher calories (1400-ish, not 1300-ish) and a small snack after dinner, if I'm still hungry, doesn't seem to have been detrimental; if anything, perhaps it's been an improvement???

Congratulations on the size 12 jeans ! The cords are different fabric so don't worry about them being different size... Good Work ! I remember when I still worked & walked every morning with neighbor, in any weather in Kansas, cold morning during winter we just wore layers & walked away !!!

Thanks Gigi. Yes, OCC is a wonderful project that goes on nationwide to spread the Gospel to other areas of the world via these shoeboxes filled with gifts, hygiene items and school supplies. With each box goes an introduction to the Good News in their native language plus opportunities to learn more.

GG, I don't know about looking good but this new size certainly fits better than the 14's. Our cooler weatehr will be short-lived, for now. It should be back to 80 degrees by mid-week next week!!

Notfast, I don't mind the layers so much until they get to be heavier, thick layers. Then, I just feel like a big ol' Abominable Snowman!!!

Buffy, yup, that sure be a 153! I see the number. I tell myself what it is and I still don't quite believe it. It's been like that for awhile now. I guess that's what I get for not having been at these weights in about 25 years - Yikes!!!

Lisa, yes, I think my thighs are much trimmer. But my skin....not so much! Considering the amount of weight however, it's not as bad as it could be - probably due to the time it's taken to drop the weight. Still, I've got a bit of the Saggy, Baggy Elephant going on in some places - LOL!!
