My Bacon Butter Keto Diet which is my life style now.
If you are a Type II Diabetic or a Pre-Dibetic pay close attention.
You will never cure this disease but you can control it. Only you can do that.
And believe me It will only get worse. It will Kill You if nothing is done.
I joined FatSecret Jan 12 2016 when unable to get below Fasting Blood Sugar of 12.0.
After much research when the medical establishment was failing me.
I started from first day to do the Keto eating way....It took a couple days to get into keto but it was worth it.....I lost over 40 lbs and I was not doing it for weight loss. That's a bonus that just happens in Keto automatically
I do eat bacon and butter 3 to five times each week. Today was 4 oz bacon and 1 avocado for breakfast. My bacon is fresh pork not the regular nitrates bacon. I also eat lots of veggies, check my food log if curious.

I was a nurse for over 25 years and the most frustrating aspect was that the medical profession does not understand the connection between diabetes and diet. And those Diabetes Cooking Magazines at the check out should be outlawed, in my opinion. Way too many carbs. People don't realize the body deals with chemicals. Not brand names or pretty packaging. Carbs in...sugar up.

I am looking for Oliver, has any body seen him lately. Too bad cause his Ideas are just over the cliff. He really hates Bacon Butter and wants to ban it...really? If you are out there now, lets discuss this.

Correlation does not equal causation. Diabetes can be dealt with by simply improving overall health. I know many diabetics who have been able to stop medication simply by getting healthier. Beginning a resistance training program and losing 50 lbs does wonders. This sounds like a bunch of confirmation bias. Even is what you say is true, Keto holds no advantage for non diabetics. Glad you have improved your health.

I've tried every diet out there including keto/low carb. I've been doing this and trying different things since 2000. On low carb I feel and look terrible. Look deflated, have bad breath, and hardly look forward to any meals. I can workout at low intensities after adjusting to fat for energy but lack the oomph for intense workouts. Do what works for you. Your anecdote is just that, a personal experience. I will continue to listen to science and gurus like Mcdonald, Aragon, Schoenfeld. Low carb is just not optimal for athletes.
