Hey Ya'll! It's one of those really don't want to eat but know I need to days. I got filthy, hot, sweaty and tired this afternoon and after I got cleaned up, I really didn't feel like chewing. So mixed up some canned chicken and cream cheese, tossed in a handfull of chives and stirred it around rolled it up in some lettuce leaves and had a couple of dill pickles on the side, that was all I could manage. When I got home from work today I saw something moving beside my porch. I walked toward it and saw it was a teny-tiny kitten. I tried to pick it up and it took off under the house. I could hear it crying so I went in and changed clothes and under the house I went. EWWWWWWWW spider webs in my hair! I spent quite a bit of time under there trying to catch the kitten and then I remembered the power of food. I went and got a handful of dry cat food and laid it on the ground. I sat quietly for about 5 minutes and here he comes, he pounced on the food like he hadn't seen any for weeks and he was making mewling noises while he chewed.I reached out and picked him up and he was so focused on the food he didn't even struggle at first. It's a little boy, I'd say about 3 weeks old. He does not even weigh a pound and he's just a starving little bag of bones. Poor baby, I can't find any signs of his mama or any siblings so I assume someone dumped him here. He's certainly not big enough to be exploring and lost. It makes me so freakin mad when irresponsible people dump pets. Yes you own a cat, yes you feed her but she was slutty enough to go out and get preggers and we don't want any more cats...lets go dump the kittens out in the woods before they are old enough to fend for themselves. My God! If you don't want puppies and kittens, get your critters spayed and neutered. Don't dump them off like bits of trash! Grrrrrrrr! Done with my rant. I got the little guy fed and inside Bella's kennel. He was trying to nurse Bella when she gave him a tongue bath, she didn't know what to think of that. Hubby says we can't keep him, have to find him a home......we will work on that! Ya'll have a great night!

Poor little thing!! I live on a farm and lots of irresponsible idiots think we will just love to have more cats to take care of! Thanks for rescuing him and I hope you can find him a loving home.

Well that sounds just like me and m wife....I pick up all stray cats and dogs....on the farm is our sanctuary and more than 17 cats now running free and happy plus half dozen dogs or so i believe...we have the boys clipped and the girls cost more so it is only do the boys we find...here in the Philippines most people only throw away the girls...or i have heard put in a sack and through them in the ocean God for bid...but i bring all i find home...in town i have 7 dogs and 7 cats....we love animals and we love people that love animals also. thank you for your kind heart.

We have all of the critters we can reasonably take care of and my other cats are not new-comer friendly. I don't just feed my pets, I interact with them and love them and right now that love is spread pretty thin so I can't justify adding another pet without causing a lack of attention for the ones I already have. I can tell I'm at my limit because even though he is very cute and after a night of food and rest, very playful. I don't even have the urge to give him a name. To me, that is a sign that I have no more room in my heart for fur-baby love. I will give someone else the opportunity to have some joy in their lives with him.

Awww what a precious little nugget <3 Know you will find a wonderful home for him...I wonder if it will be before you fall in love with him??

Ahhhhh, took him to work with me, a lady and her two teenage daughters came in to mail a package and they mentioned they were on their way to Petco to pick out a kitten....God works in mysterious ways! I brought the little man out and it was love at first sight. They tried to pay and stuff, I actually had to argue with them to convince them that he was meant for them. I was given a kitten because HE knew I would be in their path. Maybe something bad would have happened to them if they had made the trip into Statesboro? I will never know, I am simply a vessel.

I knew your heart was bigger then what you was claiming...For your kindness your good dead will get rewarded, some day it will be there waiting for you...maybe not this minute but some day....people that don't have any love of animals wonder why they are always having bad luck in there lives....

We are big animal activists, who only haven't gone vegan. We are with you about dogs and cats especially. When I spent a lot of time at our local SPCA Shelter, it really was heartbreaking to see how many animals were put down. We took some time choosing a dog, and when we came back to take him, he was no longer available. That hurt us, but both of our Cockers are saved dogs. We also helped others to get to "No Kill" shelters.

I am so happy it all worked out like it did. I believe it was truly meant to be. One thing that really impressed me was that you went under the house (spiders and all!) to save the little thing. To me that took courage! Well done! So happy everyone involved got what they wanted .... even the sweet baby kitty .. it got a new mommy to love it.

My Mom tells me that animals can sense a person with compassion and empathy and they gravitate towards that person when they are in need. When I was a child and roaming the Texas Piney woods I collected animals who were lost, sick or injured and brought them home and doctored them as best I could, released them when they had recovered or buried and mourned them if they died. I was supposed to go to Texas A&M and major in Veterinary Medicine, but I chose to start a family instead. We as humans were given the task of caregivers for this world and for the most part, we are doing a piss poor job of it. I can't fix the world, but I can make a difference in my little corner of it, so I try to have a positive impact on the lives of every creature I come in contact with....man or beast.
