OK -- so I'm failing the challenge in the first week. I hate to say it but I'm not all that concerned. I AM concerned that it is taking me so long to get back into diet stride. But I pretty much agreed with myself that I would make this trip to DC this week, and then start really seriously after that. I am still doing OK in the sense that many of my habits are now permanent. Went out to pre-Yom Kippur dinner with Mom and had skirt steak, green salad, and sauteed spinach and onions. NO BREAD. Brought home half of everything. Went to brunch yesterday before we saw Follies and had green salad, a shrimp skewer, and one tiny piece of sour dough bread. My downfall has been some extra desserts the past few weeks. No cake or pie for me. But I do eat more ice cream when I fall off the wagon. Oh dear.
