MaybePalesa's Journal, 11 April 2016

Hi Friends!

the juice cleanse was great and then a bust! I don't know what is up with this body that God gave me. I'm back at gym, with full force but i think i need to learn more ways to optimize my weight loss. Friends, please take the time, if you can to point me in the right direction. I read alot on ppl's journal entries about banting; what is that? is it successful?

XOXO

The problem people have with the juice diet/detox is that they lose weight whilst not consuming solid food but once they start consuming food again then naturally the weight will go up which is normal. Read up on the 5:2 Fast Diet on www.thefastdiet.co.uk - lots of us are having success with this method of weight/fat loss. I've just reached 30kg loss :D

Thank you Big Boy Optimus! This was really helpful. ive read up on the fast before. Is it as uncomplicated as just 5 days of normal eating and 2 fast days or does one have to read books on it and so forth? Again, thank you! I will consider starting next week.

Its really very very easy to do. I opted to do it as 4:3 where I fast 3 non-consecutive days instead of 2 as in 5:2. The reason for this is because 3 fast days is more beneficial for weight/fat loss, allows you to offset your indulging on weekends and if you fail any of your fast days then it automatically can become a 5:2 week so you don't lose out. You start out with the general rules and then you can tweak it to suit you. For example I fast on Mon, Wed and Fri, I make Tuesdays and some Thursdays as low carb days and I eat whatever I want on weekends. Read my journal. It's long but I kept a good record of my journey.

Banting is successful, but as with everything, it is a lifestyle change, not a quick fix. I find that the Banting community are trying too hard to replace all the "bad stuff", instead of learning to go without those things, which make us sick & fat etc. I'd rather opt for good wholesome food.
