Maybe eat before you go you will be too full to do eat at the buffet? You could then just taste the food at the buffet.

What if you just took a break from your diet & enjoyed food at these events? In the grand scheme of things 1 weekend isn't a big deal. The only issue to consider is if you do let loose, will you have problems getting back on track afterward? Some people do, & if that's you, just make the best choices you can & try to drink a lot of water or something. I go off-plan regularly & never have a problem getting right back to it the next day, but everyone's different.

Get in some exercise each day. Have a light but protein rich breakfast. Eat a piece of fruit before you go so you aren't starving. Peruse the buffet before you take any food. Take the food you really love but don't get to usually have. Watch your portions. Dance, dance, dance to burn calories at the wedding. Only go up once. Have fun!

My suggestion would be to watch your portions, take only small servings and try to stay with the healthier foods. My family cooks southern style and they also do lots of casaroles. I tend to take smaller portions (so no one gets their feelings hurt) and I also try to stay away from the desert table, though I rarely deny myself the things I truly want. Deprivation is not good when you're trying to be healthy because then you start the binge rollercoaster. Just let them know you're trying to lose weight, or trying to eat healthier.

thinking straight now ...thanks to ideas .....ive decided im going to eat veggies in a low fat homemade cheese sauce before i go ....fill up on the veggies ...then i wont feel as hungry or guilty im defo staying away from the desserts table as i only eat them cause they are there and just choose a smaller amount of each thing i love ...not like ...but love ...this is my plan ...

i think i need to try and eat slowly aswell so that i dont finish my food before everyone else so that i wont go back to the table
