had a really good day today, but feeling stressed out just the same. not about my weight, or what i am eating, or how to stay on plan...i seem to be doing ok on that front.....just domesticated life in general. perhaps, it is the first week of school and trying to get 4 kids accustomed to a schedule after the lazy hazy days of summer...if i could do that it would be nothing short of a miracle.

i have been on prozac for post partum depression for 11 yrs and have gone off of it a few times, only to have a reoccurence of symptoms. the funny thing about ppd is i am not depressed...LOL. i become anxious, can't sleep, think something horrible is going to happen, and have aweful nightmares. prozac also has an of label use for migraine prophylaxis which is one of the main reasons i take it. i read brooke shields book about ppd and was so happy to read her account of her experience with ppd because it was so close to mine! so, needless to say, i am a great nurse but not such a great patient. i forget to take it, get too lazy to get up and take it....and then i get anxious, and moody with my devoted hubby (we have been together for 17 yrs!) so tonite i am at work taking care of a terrific guy that is a ball of anxiety...he is also "forgetful" when it comes to taking his meds...hadn't had a seizure in 5 yrs and was lax about taking his tegretol..and BAM...seizure with aspiration pneumonia and on a ventilator for 36 hrs. he was beating himself up for not taking his meds and how stupid he was to put his family through all this (he is only 51, and was about to celebrate his 27th wedding anniversary the night of his seizure). so i told him to cut himself a break...he is only human, i shared my story of not being great about taking my meds. like me, he gets migraines with aura as well...i told him we are only human and are bound to make some mistakes....we just have the luxury of learning from them and hopefully not repeating them. i think i need to take some of my own advice!

Thanks for the buddy request - accepted. Good advice to the patient to cut himself a break but its so important to take those meds, isn't it. Been there done that though thankfully off them all now. Why don't you get yourself a watch with an alarm, or carry a phone with a reminder function, to remind you when to take those meds. Good luck getting into a routine - 4 kids, wow. Better you than me - lol. I'm too old for all that now but admire those that can do that and work. See you around the site!

re making your own bread - google oopsie bread - its from a low carb web site - its a doctor in sweden's website. I haven't made it yet but its made with stuff in your pantry, no need to buy Atkins stuff, nothing wrong with buying it but if its not available. I might try making it tomorrow. Looks good in the pictures. If you can't find the recipe let me know and I'll get the website for you.

Hope your husband is feeling better. Sounds like you are taking good care of him; don’t forget to take care of yourself also. I have seizures but haven't had one since 2002 though I had a close call the end of July. In 2002 I was having them 1 every minute and temporarily paralyzed on my left side ended up in the hospital for a week. I lost oxygen and had to relearn how to walk, tie shoes etc. I have a hard time figuring things out and I am still kind of forgetful, one evening last week I spent an hour trying to remember if I had taken my meds or not then remembered it was my vitamins that I had taken. lol I set the alarm on my phone like sarahsmum suggested so far it is working though the people in the movie theater last night probably weren’t very happy to hear an alarm go off during the movie. Ooops. I also bought myself a pill case yesterday so I will see if that helps me to keep track. I can understand how he feels because there have been times that I have felt the same way then I have to remind myself that I’m only human life happens and you just have to go with it.
