I finally invested in some keto sticks.. like a year later! But I have em now and plan to use em.. I was thinking Mondays when I weigh in ?? Who uses em and how often?? I'm really taking myself seriously and want invest in even more supplements also. Any one know anything about fish oil? creatine? green tea extract? I read the 5 core supplements recommended are WPI(got some) Creatine (on the fence) Caffeine(take a prework out supplement but curious about green tea extract)BCAA(have em) Omega Fatty Acids (fish oil).. I feel great since I added in supplements and want to take it a step further but I want to do my research and get my buddies opinions bc peoples 1st hand experience really matter to me and I know my buddies wont let waste money on crap I don't need. I'm not bulking up, just toning my body and now that I'm 8lbs away from the goal I set and winter is coming I want to dig in and set my new goal of 140.. Ambitious I know.. but a girl's gotta have dreams and I would love to be able to say I lost 110 lbs one day...

I take a multi-vitamin, a super B, Fish Oil, calcium (cause I don't do a lot of dairy), and a probiotic. I stay away from the other stuff, trying to get the rest of my vitamin needs from real food. You have to be careful about those weight loss supplements; they can screw up your metabolism. And darlin', you CAN reach that goal of 140, with a loss of 110 pounds; I know you CAN do it. Look at how far you have come!!

Vitamins B,C,D Calcium and Magnesium are the only ones recommended by Dr's. Having said that I take omega 3 when my skin is dry and it seems to help. If you feel great keep doing it. Watch the WPI as it is often very high in calories.

Ketostix - In short, use them in the morning, full bladder & rest period. They'll only measure one of three ketone bodies. This one ketone is highly available when you first get into Ketosis but tends to lessen as time goes on. The longer you're in Ketosis, the less of a reaction there will be on the stix. This doesn't mean that you're out of it, just that your body is not producing as much or that it's using them more efficiently. Science is currently out on the exact cause, read more about it here: "http:// ketopia. com/why -you-need -to-stop -worrying-about -the-color -of-your -ketostix/". I test with them randomly when I wake up. Creatine is good, but it's also found in most red meats you eat. It's used to help build/repair muscle. I use Theanine (Green Tea Extract) in my custom pre-workout as well as an everyday supplement to enhance concentration and focus. Paired with caffeine it gets me an incredible attention to detail and memory retention. I use it at work and to study for technical exams. As a pre-workout, Theanine helps you focus on the next routine, exercise, etc... If you get mentally worn out in the middle of your sets, machines, free weights, etc.. it could help. I find that it really helps those that are carb burners when they end up bonking, it helps them retain focus on what they're doing. Fish oil is something I take with my daily vitamins.

I have never used the sticks, I am curious to see how they can help your weight loss, please share your exp. I do take 2-3 Omega3 capsules daily & Florafiber (probiotic, good bacteria) helps absorb the nutrients, Prepare (ALA, Creatine caffeine) to get me through workouts. I just started weight training and my goal is to increase my % Muscle mass while decreasing my % Body Fat. Rooting for your success from Puerto Vallarta Mexico!!

I get my green tea extract from Green Tea. :) why pay them for extracting it? I tried creatine decades ago, had a lousy reaction. Looked it up, not a good idea for me. Calcium and magnesium work together, need both, and need in Equal amounts. (when first discovered decades ago they thought a ratio of 2 to 1 was required. shortly after they corrected that to 1 to 1. However, all supplements still use the 2 to 1 incorrect ratio.) I agree with Kclab (except I properly balance the ratio) (BTW just taking calcium does not mean you absorb it. best source of minerals is dried kelp). and best source of nutrients is naturally, from food, which is medicine too.

and, while I'm on the soap box: b vitamins don't work when taken in a pill. see my past posts on that. Nutritional yeast, liver, green veges in huge amounts is the best sources of the complete & balanced amount of the b-vitamin complex.

@billtech66 - Even under the best circumstances, having to brew it from from Gyokuro or Matcha (and those have 5x to 6x the concentration of Theanine), one would need to drink 10 to 12 cups to get the same benefit as one 500mg dose of Theanine; most people don't have the time or bladder for that, lol.

I like Billtech66's advice as he has spent years studying it - but you also have to take what works for you. I drink green tea and it seems when I drink two cups per day, it helps with appetite control. I take magnesium and a calcium/D3 product. I do the pre-workout similar to your C4, and then add glutamine and BCAAs to my protein shake after workouts. You also might consider CLA as it comes in capsules - but you also get it from grassfed butter and grassfed beef. I take B12 when I remember but as Bill says, it often is better to get it from foods. CatHerder takes creatine, I believe.

Oh yes - keto stix have nit really gotten all purple for me...I also read that after a while we become keto adapted and they show up less in our urine. I have been losing weight whether I am throwing out ketones or not...Jimmy the Keto guy claims blood is the only way to measure - I guess i don't care that much...

You can do anything you want and remember if someone tells you-you cant show them you can. As far as supplements your choice, I do a multi vitamin, CoQ10 (200mg), Green Tea, Whey protein and that works for me. I would say no on the Creatine, yes on the fish oil or omega 3's

Great advice everyone!! Just what I needed.. So Imma add in the fish oil and maybe the green tea extract, skip the creatine and add in more red meats (bc I needed to up my protein anyway) and leave the rest I already have...
