debbra's Journal, 17 August 2009

Good morning!! It's been a while since I really sat down and wrote on my journal. My weight is slightly down, which I'm pleased about. And despite overeating last night at a wedding, I've been doing really well. I decided to sort of ease up on myself and be more relaxed. And somehow that's been working. I've been trying to concentrate more on other things, like house cleaning, painting, and even a little debate on here about healthcare, which some of you no doubt have seen.

But I'm back to focus on myself on here. I also rejoined the online program at Weight Watchers. I paid for three months. I thought that maybe having both WW and FS would be a good balance. I've also been recording my food and exercise diaries on there instead of here. I've been debating recording on both sites, but my time is limited.

I still have the kids home for the summer. They don't go back to school until after Labor Day, and camp is basically over. So they're home, except for plans with friends, et cetera. They're great kids, and although I'll have my time back when school starts, I'll miss the carefree, homeworkless days of summer. We're gonna go on a vacay somewhere natury, which is our favorite. Nature or museums -- our favorite vacations.

Hope all my FS buddies are well!!

Hello Debbra, my boss uses weight watchers and she raves about how it helps her keep her weight down for the long term. I on the other hand like to eat a little more than what weight watchers permits, I also work out at least 5 days a week. I did get your message and I sent you one back. I get my daily calorie intake from here: http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm# I am currently doing a zig zag diet which is why my caloric intake changes every day. This site takes my average calories and fluctuates them to help increase my metabolism. Take a look and see. I am really happy with my progress over the last 3 months.

Although not a member of WW, I used their points to help keep me in line (along with the other FS measures: calories, sodium, fat, etc). Glad to hear you are taking a more relaxed attitude - the stress definitely doesn't help the process! I like nature-y getaways, too! Have fun!

Congrats on the loss! Sometimes it really helps to relax a bit so that you don't get so stressed out over dieting. Plus your household chores are good exercise too. Good luck with the Weight Watchers program. I'm using the Weight Watchers point system along with keeping my carbs lower too. Everyone has to find what works for them. Have a great vacation! :)

Once you are on the home page, go to the left hand side of the page and click calculators. Then click, calorie calculator. Once there enter all your info and click 7 day cycle zig zag diet. Good Luck!
