A cousin passed away suddenly, and their funeral was yesterday about 2 hours from where I live. I drove my mom, uncle, and aunt there and back. Good to visit with family I hadn't really seen (not all of them) in 19 years. Crazy how time flies. Weren't planning on eating lunch with family, but did. Mom has a love of ice cream, so after lunch we went and got some. Ok, so at home, I do 1/2 cup of ice cream in a cake cone (when I have it). Ignorance on my part assumed that's what an ice cream parlor would do - one real serving size. HAH! They started scooping and working the scoop and before I knew it, it was 6 1/2 cup sizes on a cake cone. Yeah, I totally ate it...and prayed my sometimes lactose intolerance wouldn't kick in. It didn't. It was fabulous, but wow was it alot!

I return home, eat supper, hubby wants folks over Memorial Day and wants the elliptical out of the middle of the living room floor. Ok. I was going to work to add a few hours in for the entire day I missed at work, but opted to tackle moving storage boxes from the abyss out into the living room and/or into our former bedroom. I have come to one giant conclusion...even after giving away alot of stuff, we still have too much stuff. Just a good excuse to keep going through it. The childhood memories, photo albums and pictures stay. The camping stuff stays. The other stuff....may or may not have a home by July. Love was completely confused. Pretty much all of our books are out....and we are donating about as many as we have on the shelf. Some were duplicates, some were ones we hadn't read, and most were paperback.

That was 6 hours of messing with those. Of which, around 1am hubby decided he had to go to bed. I finished cleaning up the boxes and re-organizing them.

Yes, the double bed is up, and made up ready for company. Yes, there are storage boxes underneath the bed. Yes, there are photo albums in storage boxes at the base of the bed. Yes, there is an elliptical with our weights on foam padding in the bedroom with the double bed. No, there is nothing else in that room.

Will need to continue to put up pictures before our company arrives on Monday. I just am drawing a blank where I want them. We have so many -- most are mine that are framed over what husband brought to the marriage. I honestly believe he still owns more books, more photo albums, and more photography related items than I. It's two of the things we have in common: photography and reading.

Went to bed around 2am.

Am I exhausted today? Uh, yeah. Am I still going? Uh, yeah. Keep saying I'm going to bed earlier...still don't see that happening right now, as we still need to go through stuff and move it on!

Happy Friday ya'll.
Peace.

Sorry for the loss of your cousin. It seems like as we get older sometimes those situations are the times we see the most people, which is sad, but funerals always bring people together. I don't envy you for the unpacking and having to live with all the boxes, but it sounds like little by little you are making progress. Hopefully you'll get some much needed rest this weekend, even with the company.
