LaShuan's Journal, 20 July 2009

Yesterday, was a pretty average day. I didnt do any traditional exercise but I did paint 90% of the laundry room which took about 6 hours. I did some reading last night about the importance of being well hydrated while trying to loose weight and I must admit that I have not paid too much attention to the amounts of fluids I drink. I drink water when I am working out and when I was thirsty. Otherwise, nothing. However, last week I got a few headaches and I increased the amount of fluid I was drinking, like I normally do when I get a headache, and 2 days later I dropped 1.4 pounds. Coincident...maybe..maybe not.

So today I start a new challenge, lets see if the amount of water I drink will impact the amount of weight I loose.

Measurements (Athletic)
Body Fat% - 25.5
Muscle Mass% - 41.4
Water% -53.6
Bone Mass - 4.2 lbs

Measurements (Normal)
Body Fat% - 27.8
Muscle Mass% - 39.9
Water% -55.5
Bone Mass - 4.4 lbs

I reset my scale this morning to get a fresh start on the numbers, so lets see what the trends show from this point forward. Still have not determine whether I fall into the athletic category or normal category. Since I have reset the scale the numbers are fairly close.
141.2 lb Lost so far: 11.3 lb.    Still to go: 11.2 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Thanks for the buddy request! I do find that drinking lots of water helps. It's especially important in the summer. And sometimes what seems like hunger is really the body wanting to by hydrated. Nice chart!

HI again, your doing really well. Ive not done a total weigh in with the muscle mass etc today but I know from my measurements the other day that your water intake is higher than mine, also your muscle mass is. I will do a proper weigh in tomorrow and see. Thank you for all the kind comments and encouragement on my journal. I went food shopping tonight and found it so difficult to walk past the things I love to eat. Chicken Korma and wine was the hardest. There were these Duc pancakes too which I went back to twice. lol , but I walked away!! yay! Im cooking chicken breast in the oven tonight, no skin just lean. Ive got some low fat sauce and broccoli so I hope it doesnt add up to too much cals. Did no execise today as I felt rubbish. xxx

Thats the hardest thing to walk away from the things you love to eat, but pat yourself on the back you did it! Now you just have to find a healthy alternative snack. I like FiberOne Fiber bars, they are 140 calories, they have 8 grams of fiber, 2 grams of Protein and there low fat also. You cant eat a ton of them, but they sure do satisfy my sugar cravings...and of course tea made with equal, thats another stomach filler I use. Your dinner sounds good, so enjoy~
