Well, it's settled~ I'm definitely getting an epidural. Prior to my childbirth class last night, I was terrified of two potential side effects of it: 1) being paralyzed and 2) getting the spinal headache. I learned last night that you can't be paralyzed b/c the shot is administered in a different part of your back than would potentially cause permanent paralysis. As far as the spinal headache is concerned, the doctor will know right away if they stuck the needle too far and hit the spinal fluid which would potentially cause the headache. Then they put you on medication and take precautions to make sure you don't get it, or if you do, it's much milder than it otherwise would have been. So that made me feel a lot better!!!

I hope Sarah's right and I have my baby 4 weeks from yesterday! She'd be full term but a tiny bit early~ by about 10 days. Works for me. :)

I'm trying to get things wrapped up at work to the best of my ability. They only assigned me loans through 6/30 but sometimes there are extensions so I have some that will go beyond that date. We are also all moving to sit closer to our "teams" which have changed over the past 2.5 years which was the last time our seats got rearranged. So tomorrow we all get to leave at 2 PM so the movers can get our computers resituated. Yay for early dismissals on a Friday!

Please say a little prayer for me that when I go to the doctor's tomorrow Sydney has flipped around so she is facing the right way! :)

I am praying for you. I had an epidural with Christopher and natural with my other ones because there was no time for anything. I can tell you that with the epidural you feel all the pressure but not all the pain. I would do it again. You are given a pump thing that you can press to administer more meds as needed. The only thing I experienced with the epidural is because you don't feel the pain as much you can push harder which may tear you a bit. That's what happened to me. The stitching hurt more than the child birth..lol but was quick. I also remember that when I left the hospital I was swollen in the legs and feet and couldn't get my shoes on. All things considered I think epidural is a good way to go. Hope this helps Chris.

Hope here your baby flips! Both my babies were breech, but my first went head down at about 35 or 36 weeks and I had a normal delivery (w/ an epidural), but my second was breech still at 38 weeks. My doctor decided to deliver her a bit early (10 days) so she could try an external version. They had to give me drugs to relax my uterus and then she turned her from the outside and then started my induction. My husband said it was the coolest thing. I wish I could have seen it or had it videotaped. It will all work out!
