Almost 6 mile hike. Hiking days are weird food-wise because we wind up snacking instead of eating lunch. In defense of my biscotti habit, my husband makes his with much less sugar and half whole grain flour

Thanks! I just got back from a work trip with a brutal travel day yesterday. As tired as I was, I desperately needed this time out in the woods. Kind of rejuvenated me

Wow, that's great considering just got home from a business trip and we're readjusting. Nice distance and lovely picture of you! Way to go!

👍🏻Outdoors is much better than wandering 6 miles around airport concourses.

Losingtowin -- I can't tell you how much I needed to be in the woods! JustBananas -- oh my goodness, yes, on preferring this to concourses. O'Hare is the center of all travel misery in my book!

Morticia -- it is a really beautiful area, although there are a lot of dead and downed trees from bark beetles. A lot of fun rock formations. It's the same general area where we ski in the winter. We feel pretty blessed to have this area so close. It's our playground 😊

Fond memories of running in my business suit & heels like in the movies at O'Hare, since connections are never, ever on the same concourse. Learned to never book a flight that connected through O'Hare if the delay was less than an hour. Love the exercise, hate the stress. Better is Atlanta's.

Running in heels? I never even learned to WALK in heels 🤣 I didn't have a lot of choice with O'Hare, unfortunately. If you want to leave Cheyenne on a plane, you fly United.

It looks so pretty. I used to hike alot before I retired and was in good shape. We would go early -7 to 8am and be back at the car by 2pm or so then go have a late lunch or early dinner. I did take some snacks, half a peanut butter sandwich. I remember putting a frozen Capri Sun in my backpack so it would be melted and I could drink it halfway through the hike. I think most of the places I hiked have been hit with wildfires.

That's a shame about the wildfires, Fritzy. Just heartbreaking 💔 Sounds like some good memories 😊

Ever see the movie "Up in the Air" with George Clooney? That was my life for years when I lived in DC. After 9/11, you were supposed to take off your shoes and have a same-gender TSA agent wand you down. By wearing open-toed heels, they let me keep my shoes on, and by wearing a suit, I didn't have to wait for a female agent. Frequent business travelers don't have time for all that nonsense. I've got a whole arsenal of travel tips & tricks! 😉✈️
