We are both alive and well, as are our families. Our house seems to have coped okay that we can tell. Family houses are worse and they all have bad liquifaction again.

It was really scary. We were in town for the first one, I was right next to a very tall building taking a photo and had to stumble/run to the middle of the road in case the building started collapsing. We went home and that is where we were for the 6.3 (has been upgraded from a 6.0). I was so terrified I started screaming :(

Yesterday was just awful, hardly any sleep last night thanks to multiple aftershocks, some decent ones today too. You can follow them on here:

I was thinking about you all day. I am so glad to see you on here - even if you are a bit emotionally raw/damaged, it is nice to know you are physically OK. Will keep thinking about you guys!

Goodness gracious! What's next? Did your newly installed chimney stay intact?

Thank God. I couldn't post to Stef's Atkins Forum post, but I was terribly worried. Hope all your friends and family are well as well.

Thanks everyone! We have no chimney, when the new woodburner was installed they did just the flue - with no chimney around it thankfully. I am too scared to light the fire during the day when hubby is at work though, as I am scared of what could happen in another massive quake LOL. Just call me a scaredy cat!

So glad you came through okay. Lots of prayers, warm(ing) thoughts and good wishes to you, your family and your country folk. I hadn't thought about it being almost mid-winter. I find liquifaction very scary, being here in earthquake country. We were so lucky in 1989 Loma Prieta as we were in the 3rd drought year in my part of the state. Funny to think of a drought as luck but it was.

Squiggs, So sorry to hear that you are still having to deal with such tragedy. I wish there was a way that I could stop it for you. I will continue to pray as well. HUGS:)

Yeah that was pretty lucky, at least for the liquifaction part. How did you cope with the constant aftershocks? I am finding it so tiring, especially as it has been over 9 months worth of them.

Thanks Laurie. I wish there was a way to stop it too. I appreciate everyone's prayers.
