Need to get off the computer and moving. 10,280 steps yesterday. Trying to get to averaging 10,000 a day. Back to the gym tomorrow, that will feel good. Gym bag will be ready and in my car today. Will do some exercises home today.

Was going to put the sprouts trip off until Wed. but I need some things to make bird food. Will do the trip first put fruits and veggies in the dehydrator and start some bread before back to scrubbing off wallpaper glue. I hope to have that job finished today, it's about halfway. So anxious to paint and get my kitchen back to being organized. I'm also adding new shelves in my pantry closet, right now it has lots of wasted space.

not organized Deb, my house is a disaster area at the moment, Stuff piled everywhere. I'm hating the clutter. Taking a break. Buffy, I have a little teal and blue 7 oz Quaker parrot. they eat a varied diet of fruit veggies, seeds, whole grains, and meat proteins. I decided to try making his food. lots of people feed their parrots fresh food, mine gets treats of fresh whatever, he's a little beggar when I'm cooking. I needed to have it so it wouldn't spoil so followed the lead of a commercial food producer and started dehydrating fruits (no sugar) and veggies for him, toasting some flaked whole grains, and adding various seeds. He was not eating about 50% of his store bought food at $16.00 for 1.5 pounds, dang expensive food. He does not like dried kale though.

Oh, I understand now! Spoiled pets are my specialty. I had to ask because we are out of finch food for the wild finches and it seems to be in short supply this winter. But they are eating the droppings from the mixed bird food feeder so I guess they won't starve.

nigella seed? I have some from the Mediterranean store. I bought it for cooking but also put it in my bird food. I gave up feeding the outside birds, I get invaded by mean nasty grackles. they make a big mess and fight with the other birds, even with the squirrels. I do put up hummer feeders in the summer.

I should not have sat down after cutting up stuff for the dehydrator, and some lunch. Fell asleep. Not getting much done. Guess I was more tired than I thought. Oh well, the glue will be there tomorrow. Making bread, finishing up other chores, and being mostly lazy on the couch with my pup.

What do you do in the dehydrator? I just make fruit leather.

You are a great example of ingenuity - putting shelves in!

Nichol, slices of papaya, strawberries, bananas, green peppers, tomatoes. + right now I'm drying all kinds of fruits and veggies for bird food.

I never thought of tomatoes. Do they come out like sundried? we adore those in garlic oil. Dry until stickyish?

a bit sticky, dry then if you want them sun dried pack them in olive oil. They turn out sweet, so a good snack when you are hungry for something sweet, good in salads instead of dried cranberries and with no added sugar.

We have been experimenting with hydroponics and I should have some nice plum tomatoes next week. I will try that for sure (Go ahead, someone tell me not on atkins lol).

thanks on the steps, heading for an average, don't want to stress over a day. I stuck a garage type plastic shelf unit in the kitchen closet when I moved in, figured it was a solution for awhile. It's sturdy and easy to clean. I've finally decided to put in some adjustable shelves, just simple with the strips that brackets fit into. Hopefully less wasted space, more flexibility, and maybe I won't lose stuff buried in the back.

the plum sauce type seem to work the best as they start out meatier, half or quarter them. I grow old fashioned romas.
