Since starting to use the protein powder, it has been difficult to stay under 1600 calories. I felt light this morning. Perhaps I should have weighed myself. I'll weigh in tomorrow after I work out. My calories are up today. I'm eating more protein than I ever ate before. I feel a little bloated. I'm hoping it's water. My muscles are getting tighter and my pants are loose. I still have a pair of my pants that are size 36. I may try them on to see if they fit. If they fit, things are working. If not, keep going anyway.

In addition, my mom just called and invited me and my boys over for dinner. We are having Tilapia tonight. That is supposedly good protein. I reentered my calorie goal as well. I'm hoping to lose 1 or 2 lbs. per week. It seems like I've been up and down a little bit... depending when I step on the scale. Thanks for all your support folks. Stay warm.

If the protein is Whey it could have hormones in it which will cause the body to be freaked out...I just read a book on eating to avoid deceases and meat and dairy can attribute to many of the bad stuff as well as all the chemicals and coloring in food... I feel like there is nothing good to eat that is healthy any more!! Anyway... thought I would share with you what I learned about whey. I have a big container of it in my cuboard and may use it up and find a different kind that might be hormone free.... if there is such a thing ... we'll see.

Yes it is whey. I had a double scoop this morning and tried to throw in a 1/4 banana for flavor... ewwthakapatucki. It was like swallowing banana flem. I rekon I should look for a bullet thingamajig to help mix it more better. Excuse the proper English there. It's Friday afternoon and my brain is tired of being proper.

Nutrition 53 has a vegan formula, I personally didn't care for it as it didn't mix up well (I don't use a blender, just a shaker bottle) but they also have an organic line called Protein 1 which I have never tried. I personally prefer Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard, lots of good flavors. I've tried the banana thing but no matter what I find it too over-powering, if you would like a little more nutrition try kale or spinach, you can barely taste it....

Protein is important - however; "extra" protein your body does not use is metabolized in the liver to become glucose. Stored glucose is like a million extra carbohydrates...so you could stall out. Y0u may want to reduce the carbs a little if you go higher protein. I am not being critical - i just learned it the hard way. When I was high protein, I was not losing any more.
