SherrieC's Journal, 06 February 2015

Thank You Everyone who has taken the challenge with me. I completely understand the various circumstances in which some are not able to do it. I would also like to thank you for your well wishes, they mean a lot to me.

I do have a question though, Is it better to workout with music or without when you are at the gym ?

Okay, I am hoping that everyone has a wonderful day/weekend.

All my best
Sherrie

I love having music when I work out, it keeps me moving and helps me set a pace :)

I walk to music. I find the more upbeat songs get me moving faster for a bit, which is always good. I think it's good unless it distracts you and you hurt yourself. Otherwise, do what feels good to you.

I too like upbeat music when I do cardio, although I don't put headphones in when I am doing the weight machines. For a while, I tried listening to audio books, but I moved much more slowly! :) Whatever works for you!

I think whatever works for you is good, music or no music. I do my exercise in the basement, if on the stationary bike I have the TV on and if doing the total gym there's music sometimes, sometimes not. If I'm listening to music I tend to pace my movement to the beat.

I do the elliptical with Pandora techno, it is awesome. I get into the music and the time just flies by!

I thought all the gyms had music going and everyone has to listen to it, if you are in there. Are there quiet gyms where you have to wear ear phones so that other people don't listen to your music?

Music certainly helps me when doing aerobic type working out. I don't remember it affecting my work outs when I'd lift weights, although it's been a while.
