Good Thursday Morning!! Slight emergency at my home. We live "off the grid" which means we make our own electricity. We have a generator, inverter, battery, solar panel system which creates our power. Our generator is fueled by propane. Unfortunately we don't have enough solar panels to live completely off of the sun. Well, we are supposed to be on the propane company's regular route but they must have overlooked us. And, we hadn't checked the propane level lately ... got distracted I guess. I asked my husband about it last night as we were taking the dogs out for their last "duty." It read ZERO. YIKES!!! Of course, it was after hours so I called and left a message and when they open at 8 am you can be sure I'll be hounding them to get to my house TODAY!!! So, I am praying for a lot of sunshine today to keep us going!! YIKES!!! Needless to say we'll be very conservative with our power consumption. However, we also need the propane for the hot water tank and the stove. Looks like I might be buying something to bring home for dinner tonight so we don't have to cook. What will I do if I can't make my coffee tomorrow morning??? Hopefully they can deliver propane today. Never a dull moment!

On the weight front I was surprised again this morning with another dip on the scale. 181.4 is what Frank reported today. So strange how for a while there appears to be no change and then it changes. I should have eaten more yesterday though. I was hungry at night!! I thought about having a snack but I was soooo tired I just didn't have the energy to eat. So different than earlier days for me when I would often get up at night and eat when of course I was not truly hungry. So, I had my fiber bar first thing this morning while I rode my elliptical machine as I woke up HUNGRY!!! I made a huge salad with left over BBQ boneless chicken breast, lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, feta, sweet bell peppers, red onion, craisins, apple, sunflower seeds and avocado for dinner last night. It was simply delicious!! Even my husband is enjoying my salads (a true meat and potatoes man from waaaaay baaaack). I've been consciously adding avocado, nuts here and there, and other "good" fats to my diet. Maybe that is what is making the difference in my recent weight loss. Maybe not but I am really enjoying the changes.

I have been working 9+ hours everyday with no breaks all week. Today is another day like that. I have a playgroup to facilitate here in town and then a drive down to Coeur d' Alene to transfer a family to our office in Kootenai County. Fortunately tomorrow I have only one appointment, first thing in the morning and then my plan is to go home!!! So, only a half day at the working corral tomorrow! YEA!!!

Well I certainly have made this post lengthy this morning. Guess I had a lot to say!! LOL!! So ... I need all of you to send out your "the propane truck will deliver propane to madaboutmoose today" energy/thoughts today!!! Have a good one!! Keep up the great work!! We all deserve to feel okay about the bodies we live in!!

You are almost into the 7's. A happy dance for you early. I am so happy for you. See you do need smaller pants. I bought a really snappy pair of capri's today and it just feels so good to have something new. I also sound a pair of white linen slacks that are too short of course but I will shorten them into capris. They have the most amazing thicker lining so it is like not wearing white. I am a happy shopper today. Hope you get that electricity thing taken care of. :-)

Home front crisis is resolved. Thank goodness. Hubby had to come home early to meet the propane delivery guy. They were thinking we had a leak. Not so. They just haven't been here in 3 months!! I stopped at Macy's on the way home. I found 2 pair of Lauren black pants, both size 12!!!! Both were on sale. One pair was dirt cheap, the other a little more but they even had them long enough for my long legs! One is a pair of light weight fabric, the other jean material. I also found a very nice black sweater for 7 dollars. So I too am a happy shopper! I've had 1700+ calories today and I'm trying not to panic. I ate when I was hungry so I know I haven't overdone it and I keep reminding myself that theoretically I can eat up to 2400 a day and maintain. Still ... it makes me a tad nervous.

You go girl! Also very envious of the way you live! I wish we could do that hear, once we buy this place we are going to save up to do that. I cant wait. You have just so moved to the top of my coolest people in the world list!!!

Off the grid has its difficulties but all in all it isn't much different than a regular house!! The cool part is when everyone else loses power during storms and outages ... we still have power!! We used to have a beautiful 3000 sq. ft. home, brand new in California. When we moved here we bought a little funky house on 20 acres in the middle of the woods. It isn't very fancy but it is home and I love living this way most of the time! I don't think I could ever live in town again ... with neighbors so close you can almost reach out and touch them.

I am so glad you found pants and a sweater too. I bet they feel really good on and look good too. We both wear 12's but I have a lot of 8's I would really like to get back into. Sometimes I wonder. I understand about neighbors. I live in a condo but have a privacy fence on both sides of my deck which is huge and the golf course in my back yard, I actually live in the middle of the golf course, so I do not see anyone when I am outside in back except golfers and that is okay. In front I see the other condos and that is okay too, but I am always in back. I walk Zoe on the course but I always keep an eye to the right for golfers coming up to the area they hit the ball from and then I hide behind a huge oak when they swing so I do not end up with a head injury. LOL I keep to the fence during the day but at night when it is getting dusk, I take Zoe out and we walk any where we want and it has cooled off outside. We even go when it is night time, there is enough light from the moon to see where we are going. All the golfers are done and it is our own private park. Of course I always pick her little jobs up wherever I am. It sounds really nice the privacy you have. We, my ex and I, lived in the country once but I felt so very isolated, the farmers who were our neighbors were making bets how long the city folk would last. Needless to say I wanted to come back to town but wanted privacy also. So I have both now and I love it.

Your place sounds like a nice compromise between city and out-in-the-sticks!! Everyone has their druthers and the place they feel most comfortable in! Although I love visiting the city I am really a country girl at heart, which is funny because I was born and raised in Southern California ... can't get much more city than that!! I can't imagine wearing a size 8 ... I have never owned a size 8 in my life!! But you have been a much thinner person than I ever was!! You'll find the right groove for you at this time in your life, regardless of what size you end up in.

But you never know what size you will end up in either. I think 10's will be what I finally settle in, I hope. I just seem to be fluctuating again. Same old, same old. I guess I really want to get into a specific black fall and winter slack again, those are size 10. Those are my goals and I do not care about the 8's anymore. I think The Discovery Shop will be very happy to get my 8's, because in reality I looked a bit anorexic in that size although I was not. I am not in a city like Chicago, I live in Davenport, IA which is a much smaller city but I would love to live on the Mississippi river, we are on the river actually. Maybe I will look for a one level condo there. Wherever I live I cannot look at neighbors out my back living area. That is my private space and that always will be.

Fluctuations are just not fun. But they do happen with regularity it seems!!! Size 10 seems like a very reasonable goal for you!!! Nice awareness about being too thin looking in a size 8, even though you know you were not anorexic!! And, of course you are right ... I do not know what size I'll end up in ... but for now I am as pleased as punch to be in some 14's and some 12's ... I just tossed a bunch of 16's out of my closet onto the floor!!! I'll deal with them later!!
