Trying to figure out how to add more sodium to my way of eating. I use some but others say everything needs more salt. Hysterical that the nurse at my docs office is telling me to eat more salt, he said he didn't think he had ever told anyone that before. Maybe that's why I ate those chips earlier in the week.

Wallpaper border is about half off, the tough part is the glue residue. Left arm is so dang sore from the pneumonia shot I keep taking breaks.

Yummo dinner..blackened salmon and Cajun potato veggie cakes. Should have had another veggie but knew I couldn't eat more... Stuffed. Trying to get the smoke out of my house from the smokin hot iron skillet. Funny the color my kitchen will be is called Smokin Hot!! Love the name!!!

Several years ago my doctor told me the same thing "eat more salt". I was amazed considering I was brought up that salt was bad for you and caused high blood pressure so I shied away from salt because of that. I only use salt on my meats...

low sodium can cause heart attacks.... it's essential to your body's functions. So am paying attention. It probably would have been lower if I hadn't eaten those chips. I put less salt in the blackened seasoning mix than called for, it was a bit salty for me but really good. Paul Prudhomme's recipe. yum....

I added pure sea salt to my diet when I started doing low carb. In addition to sodium it has good for you minerals.

Blackened foods are yummy - I did blackened brussel sprouts and set off the smoke alarm!

Google high sodium foods. Some are just naturally higher in sodium. I know celery is. Obviously anything pickled. You could use canned beans instead of dried. That way you don't feel like you're drinking salt. I wonder if you gargle with salt water how much your body would absorb.

I use sea salt, buy it in 50# bags. I know odd, incredible amount of salt. I use it for making salt scrubs, my friends and family think I should market them. Blackened veggies, what a great idea!!! I'm not Brussels sprouts fan but till awesome idea, I have seasoning mix left.

Instantcrazy, I'm thinking of doing some hunting on high sodium veggies, tomatoes are but I don't eat many this time of year, hmmm maybe canned. I keep canned beans in my pantry but rarely use them anymore. Handy now and then, good idea. Pinkrose, the nurse had also never told anyone to eat more sodium before, we were laughing about it.

Add soy sauce to your meals. Plenty of salt there.

Thought about that, using more of my Braggs amino acid soy sauce, I like it's flavor. This is rather weird to me, usually I'm concerned about too much as I do add layers of seasonings to my foods as I'm cooking them-- just a bit. I

Ok, so hunting online for high sodium veggies... hard to find anything but low. Olives and pickled anything seems to be a good option. I can do that. I like pickled things but rarely eat them because they are high in sodium. I already add soy sauce when applicable, I like it, and trying that pink salt.

The only kind of blackened food I make is the kind where I forgot I was cooking.

Cottage cheese has a lot of sodium, too, but doesn't taste salty.

Instantcrazy, Cajun blackened is terrific. Sure does smoke up the house though!! hadn't thought about cottage cheese, good idea.

I could see needing sodium if you are dehydrated , not the case.

Miso?

Mmmmm, I have some red miso in my frig, that stuff lasts forever....I can only stand a little bit as it is so salty. Adding tomatoes to my soup for work today, I could add a bit of miso to that.
