On the advice of a fellow FS member I decided to look into the couch to 5k program. As soon as I got home from work I went out and did my 1st training run which consisted of 60 second runs and 90 second walks for 8 intervals. I found a podcast on Itunes by Robert Ullrey that assists you along the program. He plays some horrible techno music and tells you when your run and walk intervals are and says nice encouraging things along the way. I got through it quite successfully. I think this will really work for me. During the runs every time I felt like I was about to give up the minute was over then I could recollect myself during the 90 sec walk. I'm supposed to do this twice more, then move on to the 2nd week podcast. I dont know whats in that one yet, but hopefully by then I'll be ready for it.
