Fasting can be helpful for some to reduce calories, for others, it may cause a binge that will backfire. In the end, it's just a tool that some will find helpful, not something that will create a metabolic advantage in any way.

Pretty much! If it works, great, but it’s just one way to skin the cat.

Definitely not for me, but I know some people find it helpful.

Thanks for sharing this info. I don't do fasting but I've always wondered...🤔

I don't think I've ever intentionally fasted. It's more that I get busy and forget. I question the method, though, the same way that I question the method of eating 5+ times/day. As kids, we are told it is meal time or snack time, and I think that has trained our adult brains to not consider whether we're actually hungry or not. Fasting -- the real kind, as in no calories for days -- seems extremely unnatural, unless we've got the flu or something.

I totally agree that it's just a tool.
